There are several versions of this process, all well-worn in the twentieth century, all around the world. The marxist/communist playbook was overtly adapted from Machiavelli's principles. The British Empire was built on it. The American foreign policy used it as well. When are we going to leave Germany, Japan or Korea, let alone Iraq and Afghanistan? Obama has transferred incredible wealth into the hands of Goldman-Sachs and associates, the military-industrial complex has been humming along for a long while. . . . lots of slush out there, cash with strings. It apparently wasn't intended to just restart the economy and put folks to work with ordinary jobs. The biggest problem to taking full control of America happens to be "Constitutional" expectations in the public mind.

Thriller, your analysis is all wrong because you don't get to the root of it. The Tea Party "patriots" are just ordinary chumps with illusions that this is a constitutional republic, or should be. The "Occupy" mob is overtly against the American constitution, treating the "old order", constitution and all, as "the problem", and in their very label claiming superior authority. They are not the "99%" of us. Those articulate educated guys with the bullhorns who are doing the 24/7 in the park are on a payroll, probably earning more than a stockbroker account manager for what they are doing. Question is, who's paying.

Oh. . . . Obama the community organizer is at it again? Don't need 50.001% of the vote when you've got "99% of a mob".

Question is, who is Obama working for? And/or how is he being used?

By far the biggest show of intelligence thus far has been the group that went into the banks and caused some rukus by a mass closure of their personal accounts. Shifting those assets from the Mega banks that make up partial ownership of the Federal Reserve to your local community banks/credit unions is a much better way of heading towards solutions rather than spewing codswallop in a park/street.

i personally never kepp much money on the bank.
when money comes in i just get it all out. since their are no local community banks arround i keep it in cash

I totally disagree with your straw man arguement. In my opinion, We haven't had a free market since at least the creation of the federal reserve in 1913 and our market has become less free each and every day since then. Also the free market did not cause this to happen and this is where I will educate you... Malinvestment caused by the Federal Reserve and government intervention via Government Sponsored Enterprises (fannie mae and freddie Mac) and the Community Reinvestment Act caused the housing bubble. That's the short anwser...

No oversight on Wall Street... and then when they do, not wanting to face the horrible consequences (hence, the bailouts.) When their companies go belly-up, they pay off the top execs while screwing over everyone else..... Or they demand bailouts, receive them, and give their top execs their bonuses instead of using that money to save the jobs of everyday workers.

We need more regulation, not less. I support Occupy Wall Street. The lack of regulation, oversight, corruption, etc needs to be fixed.

A return to free markets is exactly what created this mess.

Did you report the post? It doesn't seem so.

Dutch was initially given a warning for using the term to describe someone he admitted was NOT of the Jewish faith. He was verbally abusive and repeatedly edited his post to change what the mods had edited. He was then issued infractions which led to his suspension.

If you or someone else reports this post, the mods will discuss it.

Report me. I have no warnings or infractions at present, and I find it highly unlikely I'll be banned for my first offense.

Short, but wrong. Less than half the subprime loans were securitized through Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
