Lockout!!!

That's Paul Allen's yacht.

I like this pic (the other boats there give a "little" perspective):

Jason Whitlock! I like this guy! Great sports writer! Here's some of his take on the NBA lockout! Good stuff!

"Gumbel is pandering to a choir that loves hearing that black people are always the victim of racism, a power imbalance and America’s refusal to recognize Jay-Z’s birthday as a national holiday."

"It’s easiest to see the break from traditional sports values in the NBA. The embrace of rebellious, hip-hop music culture, which is in direct opposition to the patriotism associated with sports, and the devastation of college basketball because of early entrants into the NBA put pro basketball players at odds with their fan base.

American sports fans love basketball. It is our most beautiful and graceful game. They don’t like or respect the participants. The fans don’t believe the players share their values. Fans care about the teams. The players don’t."

Oh, by the way....Whitlock is black.

Of course you took parts of two different articles and linked to an article that's 8 months old.

Whitlock's conclusion on his most recent column was this: "This column sounds harsh, like I’m anti-union and anti-players. I’m not. I’m on their side in this labor dispute. Someone needs to tell them the rules of the jungle they inhabit.

Stern is a boardroom lion. He’s the king of the jungle. The only way to get his respect or slay him is with another lion. As I said last week, that’s Billy Hunter, the executive director of the players union."

Funny how you do things like this so consistently.

....I never mis-quoted him!

A reasonable person reading your post would have assumed those were all quotes from one article, namely the article you linked to.

Similarly a reasonable person would have guessed from your framing that Whitlock and yourself agreed on the fundamental issue regarding the owners vs. players divide. In fact, the opposite is true.

It was pretty dishonest CJ.

....if you know anything about Jason Whitlock, then you know he's anti-hip hop....about as strongly as Bill Cosby is! And although he may side with the players to some extent....I'm sure he thinks they are DRASTICALLY overpaid, just like the rest of us!

Aka the next Utah Jazz PG, aka the black John Stockton.

...the kid looks pretty good! And if he's tattoo-less, all the better! However, ain't ya gettin a little sacrilegious using Stockton's name in the same sentence with him??? There will NEVER be another John Stockton on any level again in basketball!

Very interested to see what Marshall does this year. His court vision and three point shot would mesh well with the Jazz bigs.

He and Teague are in very good situations this year. Both have a TON of talent around them and both are going to get loads of playing time. Teague has been killing it early .. exceeding in the PNR and ahead (in the very early goings) of where Wall or Knight were at getting Cal's DDMO.

Hypothetical question:
What would you do if it was revealed that John Stockton actually had a tatoo somewhere on his body that was kept secret all these years? Would your world come to a crashing end? What would be your preferred method of escaping this nightmare?...357, Pills, noose, toaster in the bathtub? Just curious. Thanks!
