Big Blue All stars vs The villians

Tyreke is overrated, im sure you disagree again

20 points 5 rebound and 6 assist per game in his rookie year is pretty impressive. He did regress a bit his sophomore year, but I think he should pick it up this coming season.

Since he doesnt have physical disadvantage those numbers are normal for him as the main option of his team in his rookie year. Also a good pg should do better than 6 assists. He is not a pg like a pg but he cant be a shooting guard without shooting at all. In his career i think he can be a good bench player like terry

20,6 and 5 are normal rookie numbers?

Brandon jennings had something closer, i dont think he is one of the best pgs in the league, and deron wasnt even close to that numbers but he is one of best 3. So rookie numbers, especially if you are a guard, maybe overrated if you are physically stronger guy like Tyreke. I dont think he is that good as people exaggarate. I would prefer to have Rubio 10 times more than Tyreke if i am considering a long term pg for my team

Jennings had 16-6-3, and he shot 37% from the field. AND YES OF COURSE EVANS IS NOT A PG. Why do you think they drafted Jimmer? Why do you think they have been playing him alongside Beno Udrih the past two years?

I'm not going to make any excuses for Enes. He came out VERY sloppy to begin the game .. forgiveable .. but his ability to get off the ground (except a few rare instances) was abysmal. I love the kid and he has elite skill, but if he can't increase his explosiveness, he'll struggle. (He has the vertical, just takes him too long to get there.)

I spoke with him for a few minutes after the game and he said he was just extremely nervous to start. I asked him about getting blocked a few times and he said he thought he was in game shape (he LOOKS like he's in shape), but after playing this level of competition he realizes how much work he has in front of him. Everyone here knows I really want this kid to succeed .. hope he gets some hops.

By the way, sorry about the lack of a free link to the game .. my buddy streams everything (UK) for free and this was no exception .. I just didn't know wazoo was going to be ******* PPV.

I fear that once in the NBA, Kanter will get his stuff packed so often his rookie year, he will just turn into a finesse player. I don't know if he has the athletic ability, or that 6th sense to get his shot off down low like Zebo and Jefferon do.

I didn't see the Eric Gordon play. People around had mixed reports. Sounds as if Kanter just bobbled the ball and Eric was close enough to get the credit for swatting it .. but I didn't see it personally.

If I summarized Kanter's play, I'd say a pup playing with the big dogs.

he was considered to be somewhere between 1-3 , worst case 4, but sacramento picked tyreke evans instead and minnesota picked him 5

but i think sacramento made a big mistake by choosing tyreke over him, they will regret it

I don't know if you could ever call drafting the rookie of the year a mistake. While averaging 20.1 pts (46% shooting), 5.3 rebs, and 5.8 assists, the dude is just the fourth player in NBA history to average at least 20, 5, and 5 in his rookie year. (MJ, Oscar Robertson, LBJ) Thats a pretty elite few. I would hardly preface that as a "big mistake" over a soft euro spoiled brat who shot sub 40% against the euro b-league.

Heres how they both contributed last year.

Rubio 2011 (euroleague)
6.5 pts (39% shooting, 22% from three)
3.2 rebs
3.5 asst

Tyreke 2011 (NBA)
17.8 pts (41% shooting, 29% from three)
4.8 rebs
5.6 asst

Maybe Rubio's fortunes will change with a new system, but treasuring potential (rubio) over production (evans) is not always wise. besides, tyreke is only 22.. a year older than rubio... I'm not sure that he has any less potential than Rubio does, and he's a known commodity.

Buddy just said that Gordon didn't block Kanter at all .. he stole it as Kanter caught the ball .. and Eric stepped out of bounds. On the ensuing inbounds pass, Kanter dunked it.

Ugh that is exactly what I didn't want to hear.. I get excited about Kanter and then I get down about him. I was hoping this game would be one to get excited about and maybe he would even dominate. I hope it was just nerves, because that can do a lot to the quality of play (look at Hayward at the beginning of the year compared to the end) and they will go away. My opinion on Kanter is that he will be a good player but I can't really see him living up to being a number 3 overall pick.

It was definitely some nerves. I promised I wouldn't make excuses .. what I will say is Enes has a nice offensive game and great hands .. those hands were brick yesterday. He would have scored 30+ had he not dropped and bobbled an extreme amount of perfect passes. He did run the floor VERY well. He did get himself into scoring position at will. He was very difficult to get a rebound against. He did have a couple of nasty dunks / showing some atheticism.

He did not show consistent athleticism and he had horrible hands. I know Enes well enough to have ZERO concern about his hands (that was nerves) .. but I am concerned about lack of ANY explosiveness.

I agree he will struggle a little to get his shot off early in his career but don't think he will turn into a finesse player. I don't think it's in his nature. He seems to be a smart guy and he's very physical. I think he will eventually learn how to get his shots off like a lot of rookies do. He is never going to have great explosiveness but I think he will learn how to use his body to create space for himself. I saw him do this a few times during the games this summer. It will just take him some time to adjust.
