Sweet sweet Lakers tears

Pretty damn funny that all year we were told we just didn’t compare to the Lakers and Clippers and now it’s very likely that both don’t make it out of the first round.
So it was true then, we don't compare to them. You know, because we are significantly better.

You ain’t wrong, and it’s a flashpoint that demonstrates how wildly selfish NBA players as a whole are.

What separates LeBron is instead of dodging the issue or doing the bare minimum to not offend the Chinese, he attacked the one dude who did the right thing FOR BEING SELFISH of all things.

But yes, the league as a whole were cowards about this. It’s worth noting that Gobert has came out in support of the Uighurs and we should all appreciate him for being a real one.
Rudy takes a ton of **** around the league for being who he is... he is a genuine dude... he is real. I don't care if he never brings us a title... I will always be a huge fan. Love that dude.

I hate him cause he's an uneducated fool who thinks he's better than everyone else and knows more than anyone across the board, not just basketball. He's the epitome of an entitled douche.
This is the result of being told he is the best at everything since he was very young. I'm sure he rarely heard the word "no" in his lifetime.

I think his comments are one of the all-time ridiculously stupid things ever said and eclipse most of the stuff people dog on him for. Just mind-shatteringly selfish.
I always manage to find some fresh ground from where to be amazed at how frequently a sports fan is unable to separate their feelings about a player OFF THE COURT from their analysis of HIS GAME. LeBron is probably the best all-time example of this phenomenon.

Would I like to hangout with Lebron and grock is perspective on the world? No. Has he done some unbelievably selfish things? Yes. Is he one of the top-3 basketball players of all time? Definitely yes.

I’m not calling you out for this, btw. ... Just taking a moment to call out all the children who make all the time I dedicate to sports feel gross.

LeBron has handled all the pressure extremely well. He obviously never needed to be a well-rounded person. Fine. I wish people would stop crying about him being lopsided.

His lopsidedness is a product of the system that these people either LOVE or LOVE TO HATE.

And I haven't talked about this much, but whatever...

I don't care what people do with their platform. They have that ability. Historically, people would try to steer away from controversial issues or anything political. This has obviously changed over the last 10 years. There's been more discussion about politics and old norms were thrown out under the idea that it's not just politics but it's about human decency. As athletes were more outspoken on political issues, other associated sources started to become more vocal, as well, such as Woj. Woj used to retweet and like a lot of political things. Overall, despite some level of discussion about this, none of these were "unsafe" positions. Meaning criticizing Trump on Twitter wasn't going to be something that would jeopardize one's career. So while it may create some discussion, doing that wouldn't be "dangerous" to one's career, else they wouldn't have done it. That changed when Morey retweeted about Hong Kong. I believe Woj even liked that post. When the blowback came, nobody dared say anything about China, knowing its significant role in NBA revenue streams, particularly in the future. Doing so would actually have people being feared blacklisted. I think this was an eye opening experience for a handful of different NBA media types who previously had appeared outspoken on political issues, where they realized that they wouldn't dare speak up on those issues and must have had some level of self-awareness that their previous "courage" in standing up against issues that were safe to stand up against was really a faux courage, and you now see Woj and some others not being vocal about the issues they were in the past, at least in the same way.

But, yes. It's easy to be courageous when it doesn't really come at a cost and gives one elevated social clout to do so. It's not so easy to do that when it affects your bottom line and when you have massive social pressure to not do so. It's easy to be a hero when it's easy.
They are running literal concentration camps. They are arresting peaceful dissidents. It appears that they freaking developed Coronavirus in a lab. This should not AT ALL be controversial.

If you can't speak out against what China is doing I have no use for you as any type of moral compass. You are a coward. There is no gray.

Pls drop the lab theory. It makes the rest of your reasonable post look hysterical. Tia.

That is not how that works but alright buddy. I know the majority of the board’s favorite non-Jazz player is Dame or Steph. Bunch of Blazers and Warriors fanboys on this site smh.
I mean I was rooting for Dame the last series so in that regard, yes I was also rooting for Portland. I dislike the fraud that is Lebron so with that said I also dislike the Lakers.

I hope this is the breaking point for Dame that brings him to Utah, where he belongs.

Seriously drop nearly any 3 or 4 players from this team not named Gobert, Mitchell, and maybe Ingles and replace with Dame and scrubs and we win multiple championships. Our very own super-team!

Unfortunately if dame left Portland and came to Utah (a favorite for the title this year and #1 seed) then we would have to hate him just like we hate Durant and LeBron.

That's ok. I could handle the paradox. I handled the paradox of being my own grandfather didn't I?
