Following potential 2012 draftees

I am not claiming to know anything about anyone, but I have to question Tyler Zeller and John Henson. I know big men are always going early, because you cannot teach size, but from the little bit I saw last year I was not very impressed.

Watched Carolina a lot last year. Zeller is much better than you give him credit for. He keeps improving every year, very good offensive skill set, and a pretty good mobile athlete. With Henson it is more about what he can do on the defensive end. Great shot blocker and defender. Both need to bulk up particularly Henson.

Thanks for the information. Like I said, I didn't watch much of UNC basketball, but I did catch a little.

I like them both in the high teens. Top 10 is laughable.

I agree here as well. I wouldn't put Tyler in the top 10, but he's a heck of a player (underrated by media, imo).

Here is a link to a Yahoo article about the top 10 draft picks this year. Read it and submit your input please.

No impressed with the list.

1 - 3. Can't argue with Drummond, Davis, Barnes .. in that order.
4. Sullinger - I'd feel uncomfortable drafting him ahead of several guys listed below him. I think he's a dangerous tweener .. too small to play center, not athletic (nor shooter) to play PF.
5. Perry Jones - Loaded with upside but his lack of intensity or 'it' factor makes me place him a couple slots down.
6. Terrence Jones - He's a load and has tons of skill, but he too is a bit high at 6 because of his tweener tendancies.
7. Jeremy Lamb - Maybe .. but the body of work is very small. My prediction is he falls to mid-first round now that Kemba is gone.
8. Tyler Zeller - Solid center that has most everything you need for a very solid backup in the NBA. This draft is too deep and talented to pick a perennial backup in the top 10.
9. Marquis Teague - About right just because he's the best PG in the draft. A bit high based on where he's at right now.
10. Henson - Way too high. I'd put him at 16-18. He's an elite shot-blocker with outstanding athleticism, but his body will get pushed all over the court and he'll never develop much of an offensive game.

My Top 10;

1. Andre Drummond
2. Anthony Davis
3. Harrison Barnes
4. Kidd-Gilchrist
5. Quincy Miller
6. Brad Beal (wasn't even honorable mention in the link)
7. Jarred Sullinger
8. Perry Jones
9. James McAdoo
10. Terrence Jones
11. Marquis Teague
12. Thomas Robinson
13. Austin Rivers
14. This is where I feel the drop-off starts. Insert whomever you like of Patric Young, John Henson, Tyler Zeller, Jeremy Lamb, Ezeli, Kabongo, Wroten jr. etc.

Anyone that I should keep my eye on that plays tonight or tomorrow on any ESPN network?

Did you know that Carolina plays Michigan State tonight? For me I will really be watching Hairston because if he can bring some outside shooting Carolina might be close to unstoppable this year.

Yep. Tonight is McAdoo, Barnes, Marshall, Hairston, Bullock, Henson, and Zeller for UNC. Kidd-Gilchrist, Davis, Lamb, Teague, and Jones for UK. Drummond and Lamb for UConn. Sullinger for Ohio State. Rivers for Duke. Ezeli and Jenkins for Vandy. Young and Beal for Florida. Robinson for Kansas. Perry Jones and Quincy Miller for Baylor.

Tonight UK won by 50 (108 - 58). Pretty even scoring

Davis - 23 minutes; 23pts, 10rbs, 3asts, 5bks
Kidd-Gilchrist - 28 minutes; 15pts, 7rbs, 1ast, 2stls, 2bks
Jones - 25 minutes; 8pts, 9rbs, 2asts, 1bk
Teague - 27 minutes; 16pts, 4rbs, 4asts, 3stls
Lamb - 29 minutes; 15pts, 5rbs, 8asts, 1stl

Was a fun game to watch. Thanks for providing the link.

Everyone basically met my expectations, except Jones. What happened to him again? A car accident?...wtf?

He was out at 2:30 am. He was a passenger in a car that was hit by a drunk driver. He was hurt but not badly. Cal's rule is no curfew (you guys are adults) until someone acts like a child. He didn't break any team rules or laws .. but, Jones being out that late, the night before a game, led Cal to create a curfew. Got Jones down a bit (rightly so) and he deferred to his teammates most of the game (again, rightly so).
