If it cost Donovan a lot of people wouldn’t love it.

I would plan on moves being successful... wouldn't you? They ended up negotiating late and being really far apart... that doesn't happen if you do your damn homework.I mean, I dont think anyone thought George Hll would ball out so hard in the first 15 games or so to the point where he got super contract greedy.
Then it was the whole weird thing were he fired his agent and hired some random person who had no NBA clients.
They won’t take that package lol
Would Bogey, #30 and 2023 1st be enough for Wood? I don’t see any reason the Rox do that…but…
Dame is one of the most popular guys in the league for a lot of reasons. I don’t think it’d break anyone’s heart if it won them a championship in the next 3 years. If it cost Donovan a lot of people wouldn’t love it.
Because Damian Lillard is a better player and your contending window is the same regardless of which of them you have. Reality is written in the contracts, the rumors, etc. with what happens with Donovan in the next few years. I’d much rather have the better player, and it’s Damian Lillard over the next few years. So in your proposal, we re-sign Conley.
We either keep Conley and play him next to Lillard or there is a trade out there that makes the team better by trading him.
That is a ton of assumptions and we would be trading Donovan for what reason exactly?
Dude, he fired his agent mid-season. I dont know what you want Utah to do. GH was being insanely unreasonable. I get making the FO accountable, but the GH situation just isnt one of the ones I would be upset about.I would plan on moves being successful... wouldn't you? Just like I wouldn't sign a backup center to a full MLE deal if I thought I was going to need to retain my starting point guard... like believe in your plan and execute it rather than letting it play out. If we had not signed Favs to a multi year deal or at least avoided the luxury tax (and starting the repeater tax clock) then it becomes A LOT easier to retain Mike. This is the sloppy work DL has done on the details consistently throughout his tenure.
That's fine to be unreasonable... then you use your excess cap space in some other meaningful way and table the discussions... we waited... and waited and did nothing. I'm sure Hill would like to have that one back too.Dude, he fired his agent mid-season. I dont know what you want Utah to do. GH was being insanely unreasonable. Essentially, there’s zero chance Donovan’s staying. So why not just throw every chip in and upgrade to Dame.Listening to Tony Jones on Checkett's show, he said the Jazz basically have a one year window to win a championship. He thinks this roster has one more chance at a championship, say's this is such an expensive roster that is aging and if we go out in the second round again or even in the western conference finals there are major parts of the roster broken up next offseason and the Jazz would likely take a significant step back the following season. He thinks they will try to add a couple of wings and a small ball center.
I'd gamble on a much improved chance at a title and be mediocre for 10 years, than gamble on a mediocre chance at a championship and then try and not be mediocre for 10 years.Essentially, there’s zero chance Donovan’s staying. So why not just throw every chip in and upgrade to Dame.
Please tell me why Lillard and Conley wouldn't work whereas Mitchell and Conley would.Dude Conley isn’t re-signing here with Lillard. Like I said above if you would ****ing read, unless we are trading Conley for a solid starting piece this trade makes us worse.

Why not hold those chips… trade Donovan in a year for a lot more than you’d get from trading Dame in a year… I don’t think in a one year window Donovan over Dame changes your ultimate outcome. The one year isn’t necessarily about Donovan… it’s referring to Rudy and the other vets. If we don’t get where we want those will be the first changes. If the retool looks good maybe Donovan wants to stay. If it’s going poorly we trade him.Essentially, there’s zero chance Donovan’s staying. So why not just throw every chip in and upgrade to Dame.
I’m afraid the FO, and even Smith are focused on being willing to trade a guy they’re trying to please long term, who has no long term plan of being here. If you can trade for Damian Lillard, while not the same upgrade of Derozan to Kawhi, you do it, it gives that window more of a punch to actually happen. The window is the window regardless of which one you have, and Dame is the obvious choice atm.I'd gamble on a much improved chance at a title and be mediocre for 10 years, than gamble on a mediocre chance at a championship and then try and not be mediocre for 10 years.
Dame is a better player in the shorter vacuum. Your roster is there, you have a chance to take a major punch and you’re rebuilding regardless. If you can have the better player during that punch, you go get the better player. Dame is an MVP level player who is amazing in clutch situations. Dame is why you do it. PS, if you don’t go get Dame, someone else will, and if he ends up somewhere that’s a contender, your window closes as well. Why not hold those chips… trade Donovan in a year for a lot more than you’d get from trading Dame in a year… I don’t think in a one year window Donovan over Dame changes your ultimate outcome. The one or two year window applies whether we swap Don for dame… I’d rather keep Donovan and I think we are better off when the tear down has to happen.
FtfyConley is better than Holiday. Can you imagine how much better the Bucks offense would be with him sitting on the bench nursing his hamstring.
