Jazz Offseason Plan

Bojan is only six months younger than Love and his numbers are down from last season. We should look to trade him this offseason before his value goes down any further.

His numbers are down because there’s only one ball to go around and we had a lot of dudes who could score.

This is a dumb conversation. Even by Lopo standards. No team should welcome Kevin Love. And certainly not the Jazz.

No, you just lose Conley and dont send him to the Lakers. If the goal is to win a championship, Conley on the Lakers hurt the Jazz's chances way more than Kuzma on the Jazz helps their chances.
There is a roughly zero percent chance of the Jazz winning a title if Conley leaves for nothing, so who cares where he goes? Why not at least get something out of it?

Kevin Love was an idea based around Sexton too. Feel free to read up on the entire conversation.

It’s still dumb as ****. Those two make a combined 37M next year, or about 10M more than Bojan and Favors combined. It does nothing to help us win now and royally ****s us cap wise more than we already are.

You need to read too.

The idea was to bring in Love and draft assets from a 3rd team who wants Sexton.

Love makes exactly as much as Bojan and Favors the next 2 years. So depending on the draft assets, the financial implications were negligible.

Kuzma is a young guy with a chip on his shoulder now. He had a fantastic start to his career then got kind of blindsided by the LeBron show. I'm a LeBron guy, but tell me how he is supposed to fit when you have LeBron and AD while AD refuses to be the center?

He needs a fresh start. Kuzma for Conley makes since if Conley is indeed trying to go to LA. If Kuzma's value is as low as some of you think, then we should be getting solid assets with the deal as well.

He can just be better at basketball. Lebron wanted him to be successful. I think his rookie year may have been a bit of shooting luck. He's been better on defense but the "chip on his shoulder" sounds kinda like some loser **** when he's talking about being a 25 ppg guy... I want a guy that wants to win... not a guy that is worried about how many ppg he gets.

He just worries me... Lakers fans want him gone which has always worried me when you get a player other teams are like "we will pack his **** up". I would probably prefer the sign and trade... I just don't think we can waive a magic wand and this guys is now some savior. If he can replace 85% of what Bojan gives on offense with better defense then sign me up and we can trade Bojan.

I would hope it would be a wake up... my guess is if he perked up it would be more about getting out of LA and the non-basketball distractions and focusing a bit more.

The Jazz could still win without Conley. Worse chance, yes, but not impossible. It becomes much harder if LA has Conley though.

Yep, the early LA years tricked him into thinking he was actually a scorer.

And what world are we living in when we say act like someone was disadvantaged by playing with Lebron? ****ing spare me.

If Mike leaves it gives you a reason to shake things up a bit... which could lead us to finding some gold somewhere unexpected... more likely it leads us to losing more but its not the end of the world if we pivot and maybe get a bit younger. I worry that Donovan gets a little antsy if we take a step back but if he isn't going to be a little patient then we are probably already screwed whether mike stays or goes.

Mike staying means more success the next 24 months... Mike leaving might mean we try to go for something a little more sustainable for the next 4-5 years. IDK... just spitballing.

I think it can hurt some guys individual numbers... but Kuzma plays with and without Lebron. And if Kyle can't narrow his focus and say "I'm a spot scorer but need to focus on being a great defender and filling in the gaps" I'm not sure how you can make a leap to "I'm a 25 ppg guy who also does the things that help me win".

I worry about his mindset a bit. Right now I'd take him over nothing... but I'd be worried about it.

I don't think he's a savior, but he can replace 80% of Bojan's offense and is capable of better defense. He is definitely more athletic and younger and a better rebounder.

Very important- he's cheaper than Bojan. He makes $39 million the next 3 years which is what Bojan makes the next two years.

Final year is a player option... so if he does play well then he opts out... doesn't materially change things but just wanted to clarify.

Like I can squint a little and see it for sure... but many times we assume that growth will come and it just doesn't.

To Kuzma's credit his defense did improve this year. But it's just OK at best. He's just kind of OK at everything. His playoff performance was absolutely pathetic though. I don't see a lot of upside to him other than just being an OK player off the bench.

lmao dude you are delusional.
Nope.

You bash people on here for ideas all the time when you are 100% wrong. I've been pushing a low buy deal for Batum for years and always got bashed. Now you're one of the guys pining for Batum.

Its okay. You aren't gonna change. You'll still be arrogant with absolutely zero humility. This is probably the only place in your world where you have any real say so you take out your frustrations on here.

He doesnt come close to 80% of Bogey's offense. He can't come anywhere close to Bogey's threat level with or without the ball. Bogey bends the defense. Kuzma is just a guy out there.

Kuz makes $5.7 less than Bojan this year and over $7 less next year. If he exceeds his contract and wants to opt out, then that means we got good play out of him.

I think it's worth the risk definitely if we can get him with #22.

I like guys that are okay and then realize that and focus on how to be useful... He just seems like a guy that is okay but thinks he's awesome.
