Jazz Offseason Plan

Maybe David Locke is Lopo?

The two players he talked most about on today's podcast: Frank Ntlikina and Herb Jones.
Also was high on Primo, Keon Johnson; low on McBride & Hyland (with caveat that he's watched very limited action). Was disappointed that Springer was injured early in the Tennessee vs. Alabama game he watched.

Yeah, I'm not sure "offloading legit NBA players in order to re-sign Niang even though the Jazz would probably still be in the luxury tax" is something I had on my offseason bingo card.

Said he would be very interested in Frank as a minimum contract. Basically most of what you've said: Getting out of NYK pressure, relationship with Rudy, shares same agent with Rudy, defensive player who can shoot OKish. Worth it for small contract.

He had interesting things to say on Jones, but I can't remember most of it.
Frank has a good relationship with Donovan as well, hell maybe he can be a peacemaker between the two of them.

If we completely dumped Bogey's salary and Niang's number was like 3-4M a year... I could see him back.

An Ingles/Nance swap wouldn't shock me.

Wow. I thought they wanted the world for Nance last year when his name was brought up as a trade target. That might be one worth watching.

I wonder if my three team deal with Indiana can shift Lamb to Cleveland… nance to Utah…. So Bogey for Holiday, Nance and some draft stuff? Seems kinda pie in the sky.

I think putting Gay or Batum in Bojan's spot looks pretty good and allows you to upgrade elsewhere. Putting Niang in that spot doesn't look so pretty.

For sure. But if you put Niang in his bench spot and Gay or Batum in Bogeys spot and saved 9M in salary that’s okay.

I think it’s unlikely. This board gonna laugh at how much Niang gets imo.

I want Niang back. He’s a 40%+ three point shooter who is a better defender than most of our rotation. Played completely awful in the second round, but we need him.

He’s way better than this board rates him. And why? Because he’s fat?

Send both our draft picks this year to Indiana.

I’d feel good about Niang walking into Bogey’s starting role. His contract is going to raise hell around these parts for sure.

Agreed.
He is hated so much due to recency bias

He is proving to be a regular season kind of weapon.

At the right price, you can have one or two of these.
