True centers are the hardest thing to find in the NBA right now. I am thinking if you could offer him 12 to 13 million a year that you might just get him. That to me is not a bad contract to have even under the new CBA.
Overpaying for a big man is probably the last thing Utah should be looking at. And yes, Gasol will be overpaid.
I will get destroyed for this, but why not keep Okur let him expire, and spend the money next year when we have roster spots open, and see what the young guys can do now, or if he proves he's healthy resign him cheap and still have money to spend.
I think this is exactly what they'll do, unless they come across a trade they can't refuse. I don't believe Memo will be amnestied.
