Following potential 2012 draftees

Hopefully Teague keeps it up. He still has the most potential of any PG in this draft, imo.

He has the speed, the handles, the overall athleticism, and the STRENGTH .. not to mention he's not a bad shot.
Marshall, on the other hand, is a truly gifted passer .. now we just have to see if he can make the pass as well when he's got a better athlete guarding him (I suspect he will, but eager to see it).

Some meaningnless stats/trivia coming into the Dec3 matchup (underlining if there's a notable difference);

Age - Marshall has an extra year on Teague.
Minutes - Almost identical. Marshall getting less than 1 minute more per game than Teague.
Points - Marshall 4.8 vs. Teague 11.7
Rebounds - Marshall 2.7 vs. Teague 2.2
Assists - Marshall 10.8 vs. Teague 4.0
TO's - Marshall 2.5 vs. Teague 3.3
FG% - Marshall 35.7% vs. Teague 51.9%
FT% - Marshall 75% vs. Teague 58.8%
3pt% - Marshall 30% vs. Teague 50%
Steals - Marshall 1.3 vs. Teague 2.0
Blocks - Marshall .2 vs. Teague .5

Now the same for Barnes vs. K-G.

Barnes has one more year of experience of Kidd-Gilchrist.

Points - Barnes by 4.8 per game.
Rebounds - K-G by 2.5 per game.
Assists - K-G by .7 per game.
Steals - K-G by 1 per game.
Blocks - K-G by 1.1 per game.
Overall FG% - K-G by 1.3%
FT% - K-G by 7.3%
3pt% - Tied

If Marshall had Davis to throw lobs too he might average 15 apg.

In fairness .. both of these guys have a tremendous amount of talent around them. If anything, I think you have to give more of an edge to Teague because not only is Kendall a year older, in the same system, but he had the same SG, SF, PF, and C in the starting lineup all year.

How about doing a side by side comparison Teague against Brandon Knight at the same time last year?

At this point in the season.. Knight was averaging 17+pts, shooting lights out, averaging just shy of 7 assists per game, and had begun to rarely turn the ball over.

In short, I'd rather have Knight, as a sophomore, than Teague or Marshall (this year), by a mile.

I'm trying to find PGs to get excited about... I thought Tim Hardaway Jr. played some PG last year. Maybe I'm thinking of someone else.

Could be wrong, but I thought jr was more of a SG? There's not much out there to be excited about. I predict, that 3 years from, PG's will be few and far between in the NBA (good ones). There will be the handful of stud vets, but the young talent .. ouch.

THJ mainly plays SF and a little SG. I am already seeing a lot of improvement from last year - he seems to have more of an all around game. Wish Morris (pg) would have stayed one more season instead of going to the Lakers. That being said, the freshman PG Burke is filling in very nicely.
