I think these posts are far more entertaining when associated with an explanation. Not saying I agree or disagree, but what are your pros and cons that led you to this conclusion?

kabongo. pros = Awesome name

Teague. cons = Name not as awesome

This. I mean if we would have drafted Biyombo, drafting Kabongo this year would have been a no-brainer.

"KABONGO TO BIYOMBO FOR THE SLAMBAMO!"

Ha Biyombo with the block and the ball's being pushed down court by Kabongo with Biyombo trailing .. kabongo dishes to Biyombo, Biyombo back to Kabongo, Kabongo to Biyombo for the missed dunk. Put back up in and by Favors!

I'm a huge fan of Myck Kabongo. I really hope this season he can improve just enough to get into the 10 range, where I expect Utah and GS's picks to land.

Sorry. Personally, I think we should pursue him. We have a familiarity in trading with them and I think he's just about an ideal fit though someone about two to three years his senior and therefore more of a vet presence/leader yet in his mold may be even more ideal. I just don't see anything getting it done unless we were to trade Favors.

How does Philly view Evan Turner? Do you think they'd trade him? Are they kicking themselves for taking Turner over Favors (yet)?

So....DraftExpress has these guys pegged as late first-round picks--Kabongo slated at 23 in their mock draft, and Teague at 25. On a more positive note, they have slated Marshall at 18.

Link? Let's at least state facts, k?

Wrong, in the mockdraft he has Teague ahead of Marshall, and Kabongo is not on the list because he doesn't think he is entering the draft.

On the "Top 100 Prospects" list, he has Marshall ahead of Teague and Kabongo.

For those too lazy but still curious;

DRAFTEXPRESS: Teague = 19; Marshall =21; Kabongo = next draft
NBADRAFT: Teague = 9; Kabongo = 14; Marshall = 21

What's the difference? What's with the discrepancy?

I guess he is saying he believes Marshall is the better player, but he thinks someone is going to take Teague because they think he has "potential".

So maybe 'college' player vs. 'NBA' potential.

No, if that was the case there would be other players much higher on the list. I think it is what he sees as the top 100 pro prospects vs. what he thinks NBA teams are thinking?

I'm not a Teague homer, but I'd say he's the safest bet to be legit in the NBA. Great handles, speed, quickness, strength, athleticism...and a pretty good shot and passing ability. Definitely too early to say, but he has been looking better the past few games.

Want some meaningless stats that support your hunch? He has nearly identical points, FG%, rebounds, assists, and turnovers as the prior Calipari PG's. Cal demands a LOT form these kids and they have an early very tough adjustment period. Teague is slightly ahead of the curve on 'getting it' .. as Cal has said. Last game was 8asts and 0to's ... not unusual, but a few games ahead of his predecessors.

I'm cautious, very, but beginning to sway optimistic.
