Sounds like a perfect time for the Democrats to kick Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema out of the Democrat party.

My guess is that any nominee might skirt by more than just a party-line vote. Manchin and Sinema will vote for whomever they choose and in the past, even people like Graham have voted for liberal justices to keep court balance.

It’s interesting how Republicans already concede to voting against a replacement before a replacement has even been nominated.
Remember, Merrick Garland had support among the Republicans as someone who is qualified for the job that Obama wouldn't even consider as a moderate until he was actually nominated and Turtle Man ran back to his shell to hide in for eight months.

Democrats also voted for Gorsuch and Kav. The Coney Barrett nomination was clearly beyond the pale and even Susan Collins couldn't support it.

I just find it interesting that Republicans aren't even included anymore by the media and conservative posters here. Like they're not even trying to participate in democracy. We just assume that everything that happens, they'll be against, and it'll be up to every single Democrat to vote lockstep with the party to make it work. What happened to putting country before party? Not one single Republican is open to voting for this nominee? We don't even act like Republicans are open to discussion. It's just amazing. It actually puts a spotlight on the fallacy of the filibuster. The issue isn't lack of debate. The issue is partisanship that can keep the majority from fulfilling its agenda.
