Trade deadline discussion

You said Conley is the difference - In the 2 playoff series we lost against teams we could and should have beaten, we had a better record when Conley sat than when he played.

Use more insults, but the truth is the truth.
You keep saying it enough times and it might come true and the trade will be reversed and we can play Grayson Allen and Jae Crowder so you can truly be happy.

definitely more important than the G6 win-or-go-home against Clippers where Conley shot 1-8 and had a Ortg of 58 versus Drtg of 153 with a BPM of whopping -23.6.
Oh you mean the game that Mike only played in because it was an elimination game and was clearly not healthy enough to be out there?

Context and nuance only confuse the likes of Lopo and Jom. Their little baby heads might explode if they have to consider more factors than if a loss or win happened while Conley was playing or not playing.

Donovan was unhealthy for the entire series. And it's not the first time Conley flopped in the most important game of the season.
He did exactly the same thing a season ago in G7 against Denver. He was healthy too

*Sidenote* People are way too excited about Jerami Grant. Two first is way too much for a guy who was simply mediocre to average in his last playoff run.

Be careful posting facts; some around here might start calling you names.

well i didn't say a single thing about trading Conley for Grant.

All I said was that "guys defending Conley here is thinking he's Chris Paul."

that's all there needed to be said.

That's why its a *sidenote* genius.

You and Lopo are truly something else.

Did Mike Conley play? Yes
Did the Jazz lose? Yes
Therefore it was because of Mike Conley

This is basic logic you guys.
Lol. Sure. That's what we said.

I mean c'mon. The argument is simple:

Conley is good
but
Conley doesn't put us over the top

In the mind of many, we gave up way more to get Conley than what we got.

The Denver game sucked. At the same time, it was an especially weird year. The bubble. Mike's wife had just delivered a baby. Games had been postponed because of violence against Black men yet again. I'm fine seeing that as an anomaly and not an overall reflection of hid abilities since the Jazz have performed better overall when Mike plays—healthy—than without him.

now you just making excuses for a player who's won nothing in his career. I mean this Mike Conley fandom, i get it. He's a good player and an important player for the Jazz. But if there's a chance to trade him for Paul or Holiday, would you do it? simple question

Lmao Cy just absolutely ****ing destroying dudes in this thread. Some of the funniest **** I’ve read in awhile.

Of course we are better with Mike on the floor, there is no doubt. He is a top-tier player, near-all-star, and plays a role that is important for us.

None of this means he was the best acquisition nor the best fit nor what we really needed. None of this means we didn't overpay for the privilege of having the smallest defensively-challenged back-court in the NBA. We should have had a different target, as good and as likeable as Mike is. He just isn't what we needed. Swap Mike for, idk Brown or Grant, or even Brogdon and add an adequate PG and we would be well ahead of where we are now.

When are you going to post something that's more than just your opinion?

There are no facts that support that we have been a better playoff team with Conley than without.
Because it's absurd. You can't seriously tell me the Jazz are better without Conley than with him. You have a pea brain dude.

we are a worse team without Conley. There's no question about that. But so are 29 other teams playing without their starting point guard. I think it takes away from the argument that Conley's a good player, but not as good as the Jazz had hoped for.

I think that Conley makes us better in the regular season. I know he has had a few good playoff games.

But at the end of the day, we are talking value for the trade. In the playoffs, it hasn't panned out. We can blame a lot of factors, but it just hasn't panned out.

sums it up perfectly.

Cy talking about Conley like he's either the MVP caliber difference maker like Chris Paul/Morant, or Clarkson/Westbrick type monstrosity who will singlehandedly lose you games. with no grounds in between.

Well, Conley's exactly the type of player standing in between.
