Trade deadline discussion

They might not be as attractive this season because how bad they've been, but at least these buyouts want to go there when they're good

Only way a buyout guy ends up here is no one else wants him, and we can be sure that guy will look if he can get a larger bag in Europe or China
I think the way the Lakers chew up dudes and cast them away as soon as they don't perform would worry me as a 1 year buyout guy.

He's even better in the postseason, but in the regular season, it's damn close.

He's top 10 in the NBA in scoring
5+ assists per game despite not being the PG
Top 6 in the NBA for guards scoring in the paint

I'm trying to think of the 10 players better offensively
Jokic, Durant, Curry, Embiid, Trae, Doncic, LeBron, Giannis, Harden are a tier above.

Then you got Morant, Lavine, Booker, Tatum and Mitchell competing.

Anyone who has watched Trent Forrest guard Steph Curry and CP3 in the past couple of weeks should realize that he's a really solid perimeter defender. Picking up a Torey Craig or even Derrick White wouldn't have been a defensive upgrade.

If the Jazz were going to get Lu Dort or Marcus Smart, then okay, but those deals probably weren't available.

Lots of fun riding this thread the last few weeks fellas. I'm sad that dumping Joe and 2nd rounders so we can save money and add a project is all we ended up doing.

I still have hope we can make a miracle happen this postseason. I'm officially on a break.

Go Jazz

With Forrest breaking out in front of our very own eyes, I don't think we need any more perimeter players than we already have. Conley, Forrest and a locked-in DM are solid defensively for the perimeter, like what we saw last night against the Warriors. What we need is more defense at the 3/4 spot to cover the help defense in the middle and provide some much needed secondary rim protection.

This seasons success may depend entirely upon Forrest's development and NAW's ability to handle the SF minutes

Forrest has been playing great, but is Quin ever going to play him over JC? I don't think he is. And if he is...how many minutes are we talking. 3-6 minutes if we're being realistic. Before anyone says anything, yes it does matter even if you can improve one possession. But we have to admit that the Jazz issues are much larger than that.

It's not going to change the larger outlook of the team. The Jazz were destroyed defensively when their best players were on the court. That's the type of problem the Jazz had, not a 3-6 minute problem.

Very surprised the Thunder didn't use their cap space. Really good day to be a current Thunder player. Your salary just increased substantially.

Yes, that's why I said we need more defense at the 3/4 spot. Our perimeter isn't gonna get fixed unless we move one or even two of the DM/Conley/Clarkson combo, which would be tough to do. We definitely have more rooms to maneuver when it comes to upgrading Royce/Bogey/NAW

Im excited for the rest of this season. I think whiteside, paschall, forest and gay give us some very different options than last season. Jazz will be right there in the thick of it in the end. All you can ask for really.

So glad the jazz were never even thinking of trying to get losers like harden and simmons. F those guys. I like pretty much everyone on our roster. That matters to me.

What did Dallas do? Dinwiddie is fine but he's a tough match with Luka and Brunson. The money is essentially equal when you add Spencer and Bertans... Davis was completely out of the rotation at times. I get that Zingers contract is toxic but he represents the highest ceiling that team could have if healthy.

Dallas also was a strong suitor for Dragic. I have no clue what the thought process is here.

Its weird that he didn't mention EP. I think he is a pretty good perimeter defender (along with forest being exceptional).
Also I think whiteside and gay and paschall (again forgetting him) are much better backup 5's than favors was.
Losing ingles actually makes us better imo.
