Feeling Better About This Team

i'm starting to agree with Quin's lack of adjustment in general so to fix that you either trade some of his favorite guys(which sticks to my point) or fire him completely.

I'd say we need a major roster shakeup first and foremost. If Quin refuses like when he called off the Jingles deal last summer, yeah bring in someone who's willing to do it.

Personnel is one thing, but it's really not going to change anything if the Jazz aren't prepared for different situations. Do you know which players have probably had the most embarrassing moments in the clutch? Don and Rudy. It's obviously not because they aren't good enough players or that Quin is trusting them too much. It's because they are they lynchpin's of our offense and defense respectively, and as a team we don't know how to adapt to new situations. What we saw tonight is a team that had no idea how to deal with the Lakers sending a trap at Mitchell and no idea how to defend a team with only one threat and multiple non shooters. It's not Quin's trust in this guy or that guy that's failing him, it's that he and his team are not prepared for different situations. It doesn't matter who you put out there if the team isn't prepared to make adjustments.

I mean playoffs is a long series of games with real high intensity. If Mike is hurt now how can we expect him to stay healthy during playoffs?

We are the anti suns… think this game in the bag… watch us get cute and **** this up. Just so many ways we could have won that game and we figure out a way to just be so stupid.

We are cotton candy.

Teams with athleticism and switching defenses are able to shut down some of the Jazz's system players. Miami Heat do it to us every time. The fact that Mike and Royce couldn't do much after Mitchell drew traps 35-feet out is pretty disheartening. It ultimately is a personnel problem. The Jazz are an excellent offensive team, but they're dependent upon playing a certain style.

The Jazz are playing the exact same freaking personnel that got rolled by the Clippers last year. This really shouldn't be a surprise.

This and I feel we’ve taken on some panicky anxiety at the end of games or as momentum is turning. Not sure if that is a Quin thing or the players but we don’t seem to be up to the moment.

Rudy saying he isn’t 100%… the hell we doing then? Is this so he can play in n the all star game? Jebus Rudy don’t mess around with soft tissue injuries.

I don't think it's matter of panic, or lack of toughness. It's that we have Mike, Royce and Bogey and they can't take good defenders off the dribble. It's not that they're mentally weak. They just don't have that type of game.

Donovan rushed several shots at the end that missed… it’s this building anxiety you can feel.

And they are the ones taking 80% of the rotation min. Not sure bringing in any more guys that only play about 15-20 a game is going to make much of a difference.

He also said tonight he's for sure playing in the all-star game. I wish he would just skip it.
He needs to know those guys will never like or accept him into their cool kids club… just skip that **** and go to Hawaii with Raul.

All it would take is one guy. Just one guy who can go get the ball when Donovan is double-teamed and make a dynamic play with it. It's like Andre Iguodala getting the ball and secondary playmaking when Steph is trapped and Klay wants to stay glued to the 3pt line. It's that one guy the Jazz are missing that could hold this thing together.

As it stands, Conley, Royce and Bogdanovic are all just perimeter shooters at this point.

That lineup still has a pretty damn good net rating though... the issues seem to be uniquely isolated to close, end-of-game situations.

And to get that guy you might need to be willing to part with at least one of Conley/Bogey/Royce

its not their primary skill set.only DM and Clarkson can take their guys and maybe forest and butler have that in them. sadly they are all rotation guys who won't see closing minutes

No, it's that they need spacing, ball movement and screen assists to get open looks, rather than create off the dribble. If you look at how the Jazz play against athletic, switching defenses, these guys really struggle. It's certain matchups, like the Miami Heat, LA Clippers, LA Lakers, etc.
