Coach hire sounded imminent. O'Connor smiled, paused when asked.
Asked if possible big man coach had past ties to Jazz, O'Connor said (wait for it ... ) "no comment."
Who is it?

Corbin wants coach in for start of camp. Said announcement could come Friday.
Reminded many fans want Karl Malone, Corbin said Malone would have to be asked and reminded it's a full-time job.
Corbin also wouldn't bite when asked if coach had past ties to Jazz, but acknowledged it's very important for development of Kanter, Favors.
I agree with the those who say it probably isn't Malone. Malone's not the coach-type, so I don't think it'd be a good fit anyways. I was trying to think who the best person available would be for a position like this, and while we might have the same chances as Lloyd getting w/ Mary Swim? Swammy? Slippy? Slappy? Slimmin? Sommon? Simmon? Swan? Swenson? Swanson? SAMSONITE (I was way off), I'd go ape if it were The Dream.
Don't get my hopes up...****, too late. Damn it, I hate you.
I would be a very happy jazz fan to have Hakeem on board teaching the young bigs! Count me in.While it's a long shot, it's possible. Guy doesn't coach for anyone, but he's always "consulting" with young bigs to help them in the post. I could see the Jazz using him, much like how they intrigated Hornacek into the picture. He could still live and work out of Houston, but maybe they figure out a way to bring him in or bring him on road trips to exclusively "consult" with the Jazz. While most Jazz fans will be clamoring for the Mailman, I'll be clamoring for Olajuwon.
