Quin could decide to end 8 year tenure with Jazz according to Woj and MacMahon

Let me break this down for everyone…

Jazz want a new coach but Ryan doesn’t want to pay two coaches. Fire him and you pay at least the one year left and maybe the second option year too.

Quin wants a big extension or to get a new contract elsewhere. He doesn’t want to quit as he won’t get paid. Wants to get fired and take a gap year with his money… or go to San Antonio.

So the Jazz offer him an extension at his current salary… it’s a good faith offer… he thinks he’s worth more. So he doesn’t sign it… they say “okay just come back at your current number”, but coaches can’t coach with only one year left on their deal (at least that’s how things operate these days).

So it’s a staring contest… I bet Quin quits eventually. #RMOE (Ryan’s money over everything).

I actually think the Jazz probably want Snyder back but it's clear he's not really bought in long-term. He could be bought into that mentality, with a massive contact, but Quin has done nothing to warrant a massive contract from the Jazz and I don't think they'd invest in a coach whose teams collapse as frequently as they do.

it's all about the money...... at this point we ain't find a better/more distinguished coach than Quin to take this job, since we are about to take a sharp turn and go through a painful rebuild. all those 50-60L seasons ain't gonna help build your career resume. if we are to replace Quin, we probably just gonna bring in some cheap young coach no one's heard about and pray that we hit the jackpot

Quin coming back for one year while everyone knowing he’s gone at year end seems pretty much like a perfect cherry on this **** sundae. The Utah Lame Ducks “Stay Together for the All Star Game” can be the theme for the season.
