Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

It’s not hard to understand. That is the difference between us and a lot of these guys. Tons of people have literally said they will root for Rudy and hope he makes us look bad for trading him lol. Just weird ****.
I don't care if we trade Rudy or not, if we do I want Hunter in the deal, a big wing with potential. Getting Huerter doesn't move the needle so it'd be a deal breaker for me. That was my only point before you went off on your tangent.

You literally said we’d be a 35-win team so if you believe that why are you ok with the deal?

Why is that weird? I hope he goes to Atlanta and shines. I wouldn’t mind having a second team to root for. I like Rudy as a basketball player and a person. He comes off as genuine to me and I think it’d be cool if he excelled and shut up talking heads like Shaq.

If I knew Donovan is likely to stay long-term I would be good with keeping him. I just don't believe that's the case. Nothing in his behavior in the last 2 years suggests he has any intention in staying past his current contract at the latest and very likely much earlier. Thus... I want to maximize our return and this is best accomplished by trading him now. I guess the fact that I don't really believe he's good enough to build around is another reason for me to want to sell high on him.

Same question I posed to LoPo - what do you think is the chance he asks out before his contract expires? What do you think is the chance he stays past his current contract?

Our most important player is offensively limited and doesn’t have the impact of other guys getting paid the same amount of money.

It is just a fact that Gobert’s impact on the game isn’t the same in the playoffs as it is in the regular season.
Yeah bigs just aren't as effective in the playoffs, I'm team Don. Just hope we move him to PG and surround him with big athletic wings that can shoot and defend.

I think that it is directly correlated to the success of the team.

I just don’t root for other players to shine or other teams. Just not how I’m wired. That’s really weird to me.

Ummmmm you are only supposed to root for laundry. No human attachment is allowed.

Definitely not Rudy's fault. Like ever
It's not his fault. It's on the roster and the coaches.
Not 1 time did Snyder run a modified zone or change the pressure off the side wing defensive strategy.
Gobert is the best big man defender in the NBA and the best in 20+ years. If the coaches can't figure out how to use them it's the coaches problem.

We send Gobert away. What's the chance this team succeeds enough to keep him?

It all depends on what we get back. I truly do believe that Collins/Capela + Huerter or Hunter coupled with moving Conley and/or Bogey gives this team a higher chance to succeed in the playoffs.

To better describe my feelings on acquiring a player like Collins at this juncture of the build is like acquiring Al Jefferson or maybe Devin Harris. I just don’t give a **** and this team would’ve likely had higher highs in the last ten years had they just decided to do the rational thing and cash out their assets and bottom out for a couple of years. The most torturous part of the Corbin years was knowing that the inevitable was being dragged out and the apex of the next build were being compromised in the process.

I like Collins a lot as an asset. I think there's a high chance Collins improves his value, small chance his value goes down, and also a small chance he actually gets better and turns into a really good player. His value is relatively low at the moment so it's a good time to go and get him. He's been injured and in the rumors for so long. I don't have a ton of hope in him truly being an impact player, but if we traded for him this summer I bet his value would be better 2 years from now or whenever we would want to trade him. He's a great candidate to rebuild his value because he'll put up really pretty numbers. I think he's pretty similar to Sabonis. Did Sabonis really help IND win? Kind of, but not really....but he did give them Haliburton. I don't think the only way to rebuild is to floor it all for picks and try as hard as possible to stink. You can get a lot of value from these second draft type of players.

I just fundamentally disagree with your evaluations...

And that's not to mention we don't even know what type of success will be enough. Hell we might go the finals and he IMO very likely still leaves. I really just don't see a path. He was asked directly to give even the midlest committment to this team and he refused to do it just a month ago. This is with him having 3 more years under contract. Hayward was more committed with 20 days on his contract left, before he left.

The wildest thing of all is all of the Rudy lovers are the ones who are complaining we can’t have a good conversation. It’s Trump level self awareness type of ****.

You guys constantly make excuses for him and NOTHING is ever his fault.
Remember peace in the middle east and cheap everything? Yeah, Trump sucks so bad.
