Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

I'm getting more and more cool with just keeping Donovan and Rudy and running things back. We haven't been great at making good decisions lately... so maybe just coast and ride things out until we enter the Kings decade of sadness.

This is also not the worst decision. I think it’s a bad decision, so it still fits in the Jazz brass wheelhouse. Its bad, but it isn’t the worst.

No way, if I had seen a glimmer of hope that things would be okay between them I would agree with you but it's better to break things apart even if it's only just one of them.

Rudy could be in a better place. Don would come to a realization. And, most importantly, Ryan and FO wouldn't try to fix things by only trading one of them next year.

Um...The timing of this post is hilarious.

How tall is Steph Curry? 6'2" in shoes. And he is their primary scoring option.

Also, donovan mitchell reached more three pointers than steph curry at this point in his career. In fact, steph had ankle issues and was basically trade bait for the better part of 3 years before the warriors figured things out.

And the Warriors played kevon looney at center. He is a defensive center with hardly any offensive moves. And he is not paid like gobert so they can afford to have Wiggins, Klay, and Green on the court.

Spoiler alert. The definition of your post just won the NBA championship.
I think playing with two other hall of famers and an additional all star helped. just sayin

I've always been cool with bringing back Don and Gobert, it was my preferred path all along. My hope is that this doesn't mean that Conley/Bogey/Clarkson are all back. It's a year late, but my approach to this off season is what I wanted last season. Build a more balanced, younger roster that actually fits around our two star players.

But I have no faith they will trade them for good players and are likely to mess the picks up. They can't even make good jerseys.

You make me sad.

Then, sooner the fanbase asks for their head, the better. Hire Thibodeau and force Don and Rudy to play 42 minutes together.

I mean they looked at the jerseys and were like "hell yes!!!" Everyone absolutely buries them online on them and they were like "pull the purple ones out the back... they won't notice how ****** the other ones are". They thought all of this was a really good idea... and went with it.

Now you are telling me they will make intelligent basketball decisions? We hosed

Nothing but mostly ignorant fans here. It's like going to a political rally to talk economics.

It’s funny you say that because I think I’d put the top-5 ish posters on here up against any other teams fans on forums in basketball knowledge.

What incentive does OKC have to do this?
No clue. Maybe a third team. Seems OKC would value high draft picks, perhaps deferred. So maybe a third team gets involved. I just know I covet Giddey so damn bad. Every time trades for the Jazz are mentioned, I think Giddey, get Giddey, that’s the correct move. That’s your franchise player down the road after Mitchell asks out.

Matthias Thybulle is a player I would go after. He can help this team in a big way imho.

Would this trade work out? I can't imagine it wouldn't be a good move for both teams tbh.

Philly trades:
Matthias Thybulle & Tobias Harris & #23 pick in this year's draft (you can add in Danny Green so long as you include Rudy Gay)

Jazz trade:
Mike Conley, Bogdon Bogdonovic, Rudy Gay (works with or without Rudy gay)

Why does Philly do it? More shooting around embid and a true point guard. They have been rumored to be floating Green, Thybulle, and the 23rd pick. They get back a former all star and the perfect compliment to Embid and Harden via bogdonovic.

Why do the jazz do it? More length, defense, and versatility.

The problem with keeping Gobert and Mitchell is that you then need another playmaker. Because of his height mitchell should play point, but he is not a good enough playmaker for Gobert, who due to his offensive limitations needs an above-average playmaker. Committing to Mitchell and Gobert also commits you to either keep Conley or replace him with another playmaker. Keeping Conley keeps the backcourt too small and I don't see many options for available playmakers I like. Dejounte Murray would be the perfect fit, but I don't imagine the Jazz have any path to getting him.

I personally would trade Mitchell over Gobert, but trading Gobert for more offensively skilled secondary scorers allows the team to get away with Mitchell at point.

I do like Thybulle, but I feel like Conley and Bojan are better than Thybulle and Harris. #23 is nice, but not enough to bridge that difference. And Philly has no 1sts they can send until 2029.

Since Philly doesn't really need Conley with Maxey and Harden, maybe we could make the trade:

Bojan
for
Thybulle, Niang, Danny Green's expiring and #23

Bojan is a clear upgrade over those guys, and would probably fit quite well with Embiid, Harden and Harris. Their defense would suck, but they would be hard to stop.

For us, we get more depth, a fantastic young perimeter defender, and a 1st.
