Spurs Doing What Jazz Should be Doing

We had a chance to sell high on Joe and possibly Bogey while also letting Conley walk last offseason and butchered it.
Letting Conley walk would have been dumb as hell. You can still get value for him, especially if you want to tank

The only mistake was I think we basically had his name off the trade table at the deadline last year. If we wanted to move him then we probably could have done better than we would after his poor playoff. It would have hurt our chances to do something in the postseason last year so its easy to understand why we didn't do anything there.

The much talked about KCP/Ish or something for Mike is kind of the lowest value I'd take for him. If that isn't really there then I'd keep him and move him in season. His value will tick up and there may be an injury opening that causes a team to throw some additional draft capital out there. If that is the best offer right now there isn't a lot to lose.

What's the latest rumor?
Per LJ Ellis of Spurs Talk, the only player San Antonio actually wants from Atlanta is Onyeka Okongwu. Also, despite BR’s Jake Fischer reporting that the Spurs are looking for three first-rounders in a possible deal for Murray, that’s also false. Ellis notes Gregg Popovich’s squad would take no less than four unprotected first-round picks. There’s talk that the Spurs are looking to trade Murray for three first round draft picks. I’m told that is incorrect. San Antonio’s asking price for Murray is four first round draft picks with little to no protections. Alternatively, the Spurs want three minimally protected first rounders and two unprotected first round pick swaps.

But we're rebuilding while remaining competitive!

The Spurs were easily able to trade one player while getting back a dude they'll waive and be in the running for the #1 pick. We'd have to move off of like $70-80M in salary.

If we're going to honor to process, this would be the starting point methinks.
