Yeah that Conley deal is looking pretty damn terrible.also hawks didn't take any unnecessary gamble on a guy like Kevin Love or Kemba Walker. instead they waited the right moment for Murray to become available.

ignorant would be the word to describe the Doke pick because it's been the general consensus amongst league GMs that traditional rim-protecting bigs ain't worth ****. The moment we fire DL's ***, Cockburn went undrafted.Bane was the obvious of obvious of choices and we couldnt make it. Makes you re-think that draft picks will just solve your issues because GM's are complete morons sometimes.
So they are improving! They've won 32, 33, and 34 games over the last three seasons
Yeah it did from the very beginning. Too bad we botched that along with so many other moves. Wasted the best years of one of the best duos in the NBA and now we are likely to see it blown up. Disappointing isn't the word. Crushing is better.Yeah that Conley deal is looking pretty damn terrible.
I think this is a definite possible scenario but Quin on a team with a roster of a bunch of 21-22 year olds sounds pretty funny.I think Pop is fine with just putting a small extension on his wins record and handing the baton to Quin Snyder next year.
Then the Spurs going to trade for Rudy to pair him with VIktor. It's going to be the greatest team in the history of sports.
When we hired him Favors, Hayward, Burke, Burks, Kanter, Exum and Hood were all extremely young and all played 20+ mpgI think this is a definite possible scenario but Quin on a team with a roster of a bunch of 21-22 year olds sounds pretty funny.
How good will Atlanta be if they give up all those players. Everyone contributed to the team and their rookie is potentially a future star.Collins, Hunter, Capela, Huerter, and Griffin. Some combination of those guys will get it done. We would love a draft pick, and maybe we get one in the 2028 or something, but I think the deal can get done.

In this scenario they’d probably have:The NBA has a money distribution problem. Too much money goes to few players. If a team drafts well they cannot afford 3 max guys. If your Max players cannot get you a ring and the window has closed it is difficult to unload them. The team receiving the Max players has to gut their roster to do so.

Atlanta trades Gallo, two firsts, two seconds, and 2 pick swaps to SA for Murray. They then trade Collins, Capella, Griffen, and a future first for Rudy.
They have Young, Murray, Gobert, Hunter, Huerter, their Bogey, and Okongu.
That is an impressive 7 man rotation on both sides of the floor.
That's all?If that’s all it takes to get Murray we should be in on that.
That's all?
Yeah people forget that we had the best record in the NBA last season, lol. Even this year we won 49 games and were a Bojan buzzer beater away from forcing a game 7 against Dallas.Late to the discussion here but yeah… smart teams realize they have to get out of the middle one way or another. We aren’t in the middle yet… but will be there as soon as next season. Preemptive selling off our guys for PREMIUM draft capital (unprotected picks) helps you ensure the process is successful and you don’t end up in purgatory. After a few years in the middle SA realizes it’s easier to tank their way to the top than hit the next Giannis or Jokic.
Especially since Gallo is a wash, the Hawks are going to waive him if they can't trade him so it's really just 2 firsts and 2 pick swaps.2 firsts and 2 pick swaps? That doesn’t seem like THAT much to me.
We also seem to forget we were a .500 team and lost one key player (Ingles) and are likely to lose one more to age and regression (Conley) and we will have a new coach which could easily go the wrong way.Yeah people forget that we had the best record in the NBA last season, lol. I agree 100% if we start to rebuild now it would make sense. I just disagree with the statement that we should have been doing what the Spurs are currently doing. We went all in with Conley/Bojan and our current group, had some success, but couldn’t get over the hump.We also seem to forget we were a .500 team and lost one key player (Ingles) and are likely to lose one more to age and regression (Conley) and we will have a new coach which could easily go the wrong way.
At some point we need to consider the season we had the best record as pretty fluky. Shooting was at an all time high… arenas were empty… tons of games missed due to Covid. Having as many shooters and having the type of offense we do that takes a ton of threes it makes a lot of sense that empty arenas favored us a bit. All you need is a small edge to change your season by a few games. Teams also weren’t practicing so the continuity we had was a pretty big advantage.
Don’t get me wrong we were a top 3-4 team in the west over the aggregate of the last few years… but we are not that team currently… and I’m comfortable cashing in on a team that tops out as a 5-6 seed imo this year for the enormous assets we can get by making a hard pivot a year before we have to.
I think the team remained optimistic because we lost to Denver in the Covid year without Bojan and the Clippers without Mike.doesn't matter how good the jazz have been in the regular season. if you're losing in the 1st round most years and on a good year you lose in the 2nd round, you are in the middle - period.
