So he quoted the Woj tweet about Miami and Phoenix being KD’s preferred destination saying his boy came through with the info because that info was actually about Donovan Mitchell.

ICC said the info his buddy leaked to him was about KD. He also said he wasn’t aware of a Mitchell trade offer until earlier today and that it was a backup plan to KD.

If he was always referring to Mitchell what did he mean by this?

You were saying the Heat leaker had inside info about Don requesting a trade. He himself confirmed it was Durant.

Again the timeline matches with KD’s trade request considering Chris Haynes confirmed that Phoenix and Miami have known for a week that KD wanted out of Brooklyn. He said that the player would go public if not traded, KD goes public with Miami and Phoenix as his two preferred spots. He confirms that’s what he has been referring too the whole time.

The thread goes back to last Sunday. Cubano didn't know who the 'big fish' was. This dude's source in the Heat organization has been feeding him information on multiple fronts: PJ Tucker, Oladipo, Jae Crowder, etc. The trade proposals for the so-called 'big fish' were submitted before the KD news broke today. And those trade proposals line up with multiple news reports from this week re Mitchell.

KD was a separate contingency that just broke today. This guy's source is now revealing what's going on around KD too, but that's separate from the discussion that was going on all week.

Miami chasing Mitchell and chasing KD are not mutually exclusive.

The Miami Heat guy just said that they’re laser focused on Durant. Don is a backup plan. Chris Haynes confirmed that Miami and Phoenix have known about KD wanting out for over a week. It’s okay to admit that your wrong lol

This is the latest re Miami and Mitchell. They're trying to trade for him. It's confirmed. How receptive the Jazz are is up to them. Most teams have been flatly rejected without submitting an offer.

Again I believe that they could be making an offer for Don but the Heat leaker basically confirmed that the player he was speaking about who asked for a trade quietly was Durant. Both can be true.
 
***Update, was just texted:
Brooklyn will not be making a decision tonight Miami staff was just contacted, however it will happen by this weekend. They want to appease Durant but do not want to make rash decisions, additionally they want to end this prior to 4th of July. Also want to give all teams more time to find a more enticing proposals or trade variations to sweetened the pot current proposals to meet owner criteria.

Maybe, but the leaker said the Heat already delivered a trade proposal for the 'big fish' and the other team wanted final offers by today. Hence, the public reports of the Heat submitting trade proposals for Mitchell this week.

There were no reports of an offer being submitted or revised for Durant. Those trade scenarios are being discussed as we speak. KD is their new #1 priority.
