Can the C.J. Miles experiment please end?

You say that now. Just you wait. There is some German guy who posts here who has the signature to beat all signatures that shows how Chucker J. has gotten progressively worse every season he's worn a Jazz jersey.

Vindication will be a bitter, bitter personal victory.

You just can't give up on CJ. He's only 24. Consider his first 4 years as if he was in College. And you can't judge a player until their 3rd year in the league, so this is really that year. He has finally matured, and he will hit his stride. CJ is going to be the real "heir Jordan", not the fake ones that come along every year.

A key indicator which shows why CJ is ready to explode on the league is the steadily increasing block stat.
0.1 the first 3 years, doubled to 0.2 in year 4, 0.3 Year 5, 0.5 Year 6, and if the trend proves out he should easily be at 0.7 bpg this year.

My friend and I call CJ Miles Ham Sandwich because I would trade him for a ham sandwich.

I cannot argue with this flawless logic.

Yeah, but who would give up a ham sammich for that guy?

But then again, if said sandwich was made with boiled/processed ham, and it was in the fridge for a week it could work... if there's pickles on it.

I like your thinking. Blocked shots is indeed key to growth in this league. I truly believe that he will get it up to 1 block this year. Whoops wait we just signed another SF. Darn it!

Lol, I like you.

He is a preseason hero alright. Here are his preseason stats from last year

10-11 UTA 8 2 21.9 0.456 0.450 0.889 0.5 2.6 3.1 0.8 1.5 0.1 0.88 2.88 11.9

46% FG, 45% 3, 89% FT

Then the real games started and he ended at

10-11 UTA 78 19 25.2 0.407 0.322 0.811 0.7 2.6 3.3 1.7 1.0 0.5 1.19 2.83 12.8

40% FG, 32% 3, 81% FT

So we can all cheer him on while he tears it up during preseason. I will believe something is actually different when his numbers are different in real games, not the crap he has been putting up, getting worse year over year for 4 straight years. If he takes significant minutes away from Burks or Hayward, then he damn well better be putting up better numbers than that. And if he is, I will cheer him on. Go CJ!!

Interesting. So would you suppose we should see Hayward multiple these numbers, by 6, in 2016? Kidz

Good stuff.

We are freaking stacked at the shooting guard and small forward positions. I'm going try to curb my enthusiasm after tonight because we didn't see Millsap, Jefferson, or Howard, but I think that the Jazz definitely make it back to the playoffs this year. C.J. and Gordon Hayward really impressed me tonight. This might be one of the most talented Jazz teams we have had in a while. We are DEEP!!!!

On the wings, we have a mix of aging/under-performing vets and inexperienced youngsters. The two and three are easily our weakest positions right now. Though I do see a lot of potential.
