From a very reliable source ( that i cannot mentionned here confidentiality reason) : We may tank.... or not.

And for Don, we may trade him...or not.
Hope it helps :)
I'm stunned. This is the best insider info we've ever had that did not originate in or near a best buy.

Okay, let me say it for the second time. One was doing it in the best league. Doncic was a euro league mvp, a euro league champion, a euro league final four mvp. And playing more minutes in doing so at 25 minutes per his last season and 20 the year prior.

Wemby has played 16-18 minutes a game the last two years in a far inferior league without all the accolades and awards that Doncic had.

As far as prospects, he’s really not the best prospect either imo. Davis was. Davis, if healthy, could’ve gone down as a top 25 player ever. He’s that good when healthy. He’s just never healthy.
It's more about potential for Wemby. Doncic was ready and already playing at a high level which makes passing up on him look ridiculous. I don't really believe Doncic improved a ton skill-wise, he is still a fatso during the off-season smoking hookahs and all. There really isn't comparing their talent at the same age, Luka is far superior.

That said, 7"3 with a quick jump from anywhere, defensive instincts, shooting touch with a solid base for passing and ball-handling is incredibly rare and it's not hard to fathom those skills fall in place with a more open floor in the NBA.

Giannis averaged less than 10 points in the 2nd division of Greek league. Wemby has better defensive numbers than Gobert than he did in the same league while being a lot younger. It's really hard for skinny tall guys to be dominant against grown men in Europe

I’d hardly say shooting 41% from the floor and 28% from 3 is dominant.

Tanking no idea. Fishing yes. FO wanted the biggest catch in return. They want no less than 1st round picks and/or defensive players. They installed a new young coach. If we do well, FO will be labelled as brilliant. If we go south, blame the coach.
IDK, you kind of also need a young guy you can sell the fanbase on. Something for fans to be excited for to help sell tickets.

You cant just get draft picks and dudes like Jared Vanderbilt.

I read some comment here earlier that Ainge has never tanked - that's actually NOT true. Go check Boston's 2006-2007 season. They TANKED HARD for the Odom/KD sweepstakes and finished with the second worst record in the NBA, but the lottery balls sent them to no. 5. You can call that 2013-2014 season a tank too after similar to today he sent away Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett to BKN.

We gonna be the tankiest of all tanks this year. Legit might have the worst record in the league.

But when you think of traditional tank teams, you think of organizations jettisoning all the vets, collecting guys on minimums and taking several years to get a collection of draft selections on a similar timeline. As the CEO in Boston for eighteen years, Ainge only had three years of missing the playoffs and only two concurrent (5/6 and 6/7). That 24 win 2007 team had Pierce, Rondo, Al Jefferson and Delonte West. They added KG and Ray Allen in the off-season (trading away the #5 pick in the process) and won the title in 07/08.

Vic W is generational, it makes sense to rebuild now! That being said, I’m hoping we don’t burn all our good young pieces in a fire sale and become the next OKC/Houston/Detroit. If history is any indication, that shouldn’t be the case.

Youth doesn't win you games. Not enough to be competitive anyways. When you tank you sell off the vets not the young pieces. In fact, you give the young pieces a huge runway to show if they can fly, even if they are not yet ready. Let them play, let them learn on the job. Let them lose a ton of games in the process.

No I understand, I guess from a fan standpoint, that I’m not ready to commit to a complete rebuild. Like I say, the indication is from the Celtics example that the 05/06 and 06/07 tank teams were not completely gutted and then salvaged with vets in KG and RA in 07/08 to win a title in that third year. I think that’s the hedge direction that most Utah fans would prefer instead of a complete top to bottom house clearing.
