I cannot wait to see this! December 2012 can't come soon enough.

I thought the trailer was awesome. It shows just enough to pique your interest and set the tone without giving away the entire story line. I don't want to see what the trolls, goblins, wargs, elves, Beorn and Smaug look like until I watch the movie. The Hobbit has a different feel to it than LOTR and I'm hopeful Jackson didn't simply regurgitate the creatures from LOTR and plug them into The Hobbit. I want a different look to all the above mentioned creatures.

Is a movie of The Silmarillion next?

There is certainly enough material that several movies could be made from the material contained in the book. There would need to be a certain amount of artistic interpretation to flesh out the movies into two hour sets but it certainly would be interesting.

This. Repped.

I haven't read the book, but I am very interested in the movie. I loved the LOTR movies and then I read the books and I'm glad I didn't read them first or I never would have seen the movies. They were painful and a chore to plow through.

Weird, I thought they were awesome and easy to read.

I loved the Hobbit and LOTR books. Read them over and over when I was younger. The LOTR movie trilogy is IMHO the best movie ever made, maybe it's just my love of the books and the lore. Can't wait for The Hobbit movie. Probably gonna be one of the only movie sI get to the theatres for the whole year. Thanks for sharing the trailer I hadn't seen it yet.

The Hobbit is much faster paced than the LOTR books. Less history, and more action.
You really should try this book, even if you didn't like the LOTR books you will probably like the Hobbit.

I thought The Hobbit was one of those books they make you read in High School at some point.

I remember watching The Hobbit in school when all the fight scenes were moving Xs and Os lol. It was so bad.

I would like to rep this post but, alas, I cannot.

I'll have to check with Vinylone, but I am pretty sure they didn't make him read it during his G.E.D. program.

Also, if that trailer didn't give you goosebumps, then you need to go **** yourself, you're not a true fan.
