2023 NBA Draft Megathread

I’ll be honest… Simons is a generous comp for George… I think Ant is a better vertical athlete than George ever will be. Keyonte could be more and maybe he’s a better defender… I just don’t see Bradley Beal or Eric Gordon at all. Im fine with him around 12-16.

Oof. Think he goes top 7.

I love Dick...always rises to the occasion and doesn't shrink in the big moments.

Philly's shooting coaches should be banished after what they did to Fultz and Simmons, lol.
It wasn’t phillys coaches… Fultz had his own trainer that messed him up. Ben just never tried to develop.

Keyonte George had some really impressive offensive plays yesterday, but also showed how loose he can be with the ball, and he played defense like a turnstyle in the 2nd half.

he was horrendous on defense for about a 5 or 6 minute stretch there in the 2nd half. it was embarrassing. that said, he hasn't been that bad on defense for most of the year. it's something i will continue to watch because it's probably the worst defense i've seen from anybody this year. not sure how you could be worse, tbh.

he averages 19 ppg on 62% TS in the SEC. he can create just fine.
I think he means create for others. Maybe I'm wrong.

That said, hes the best dude on the team and when I've watched him its not like hes a black hole. I've seen him make some really good passes and set others up in the few games I've watched.

He could be like Sennsebaugh who once he gets it, he's on his Al Jefferson ****.

Bama also doesn't want their players shooting midrange shots, so a lot of the self creation Miller was known for pre-college isn't really being shown

I'm just curious why people don't think Black is a pg. He is very much a pg right now and I get it if you are saying the pg is the primary creator... he's likely not that... but Lonzo is a pg, Giddey too.

I'm very high on Black and I get why some may not like him as much... but the sentiment that he isn't a point guard is confusing to me. The shooting and raw numbers not looking that great are concerns.

Black doesn't look for his shot enough and every time I watch them I just marvel at the lack of shooting. He drives to pass too much but there are so many dudes in the paint... they are kinda like the Lakers with Russ on the court. Black drives and kicks out and the receiver pump fakes and drives again. I think Black is going to be so much better in NBA actions with good players around him. He's a connector and the parts he is connecting in Arkansas are just rough (offensively).

When I think of point guards I traditionally think of connectors so the "not sure he's a pg" narrative is strange to me.

My answer to that would be, "what makes him an NBA PG?". I guess I have more of an issue with comparing him to guys like Lonzo and Giddey....forget about positions. It's one thing to say "this guy is a PG because he is great at the things PG do" and another to say "this guy is a PG because a PG doesn't have to do these things". Lonzo and Giddey are high level passers and fit into the first group, Black is not that level of prospect IMO. I think his ball handling and passing are decent for a guy who is 6'7, but if he was 6'1 I wouldn't think of him as a great PG prospect based on his PG skills. He is impressive when compared to other 6'7 guys, but not necessarily impressive to all PG prospects.

Positions are just a label and don't matter at the end of the day. IMO, comparing him to Lonzo/Giddey in terms of being a PG is like comparing his shooting to Bane/Huerter or some other high level shooter. I have similar skepticisms about his PG/lead ball handler skills as I do with his shooting. Black's shooting is not terrible and his traditional PG skills aren't either, but it's no guarantee he becomes NBA level in either area. You could argue his traditional PG skills are ahead of his shooting, but the point still stands. I think it's unfair to compare him to guys are truly high level because they happen to be the same size. It's kinda like when people kept comparing Ivey to Ja last year. They just completely ignored the fact that Ja was an elite playmaker from the get go and Ivey was nothing close to that.

Caruso and Beverley are PGs....but so are Conley and FVV and also Kevin Porter JR and Dinwiddie. The label means very little, and you can better define a players position by what they do and don't. If Black is your PG, you're likely going to need a super usage/lead ball handler elsewhere. In other words, if he's your PG you need someone else to do a lot of the PG stuff. You'd be just as accurate calling him a wing.

You have a boyfriend huh? Not any more you don't...BANG BANG BANG!! WTF is wrong with people. Good ****ing hell. Frankly the university should kick out anyone involved in any way.
His car was also used to block the other car from leaving.

Well you can go ahead and scratch Miller off of the draft boards... this is gonna be bad.

Its amazing the length local law enforcement goes to exonarate local sports stars.

How can they not charge him for anything?

Also btw the coach knew the whole story all along. Said "wrong place, wrong time".
