I saw something about him being a terrible finisher at the rim despite his crazy athleticismI want Amen Thompson. It will be interesting to see if picks 3-5 will be available in trade talks
the blocking off the car stuff i think may be being overblown on the internet. it's very possible he just parked in a random spot and it happened that it was in the way of some cars - i mean the dude ended up getting shot at - i doubt he was strategically parked as he could have died as a result of where he was parked. the bottom line is, the cops, the prosecutors, everybody involved in the case have seen video, have listened to eyewitness testimony, etc and haven't charged miller with anything. so despite the protestations of all the internet sleuths out there, chances are it isn't as bad as many of those e-detectives think it is.The Brandon Miller story is kinda crazy. Handing off a murder weapon and blocking the car of the murder victim with his car. When you see that, it’s kinda crazy that he is in no trouble at all….but I suppose it make sense from a legal sense. Having said that…the most charitable I can be towards Brandon Miller is that he is a complete idiot that maybe got peer pressured into being in a horrid situation.
Accessory is pretty broad, afaik. There is accessory before the fact and after the fact. The crowd is his teammate. The guy who shot at the car and hit the woman is the teammate's friend (this is me putting two and two together seeing as they are both from the Maryland area, could be wrong).
The gun was owned by the teammate, not Miller, Miller brought the gun to the teammate upon request, then the teammate gave the gun to the person who did the shooting.
The situation is being reported as these two guys (not Brandon Miller) trying to talk to this woman, her rejecting them, then some kind of confrontation between the two guys and the woman's boyfriend (who had a gun), Miller/Bradley bring the gun and park at the exits (which this is somehow blocking them in, but they get out after the shots are fired, so it wasnt impossible for them to drive away despite the wording making it seem that way. Then shots happened and the woman is dead. That's what really makes this a story because a young woman died who should not have been in the middle of what was probably the result of toxic drunk masculinity.
Sounds like stupid drunk people with guns doing stupid drunk things and Brandon Miller got sucked into trying to help a teammate not die. I'm not a lawyer so I dont know if Miller did anything against the law. Is bringing a gun to the gun's owner illegal? Can you be an accessory to murder/manslaughter/whatever it is if you gave the gun to someone who then gave the gun to someone else? Certainly hope Miller learns from this, but your teammate/friend tells you they are in trouble and they need their gun it's going to be a hard thing for someone to say no to, especially if they feel some sort of loyalty towards the person (a teammate).
An accessory is someone who aided or contributed to the commission or concealment of a crime. There are two categories of accessories: accessory before-the-fact and accessory after-the-fact. Unlike an accomplice, an accessory does not need to have been actually or constructively present during the commission or concealment of the crime.
Accessory before-the-fact
An accessory before-the-fact is someone who did anything to encourage, aid, or assist in any material manner in the commission of a crime, thereby “participating in the design of the crime.” See Johnson v. State, 290 So. 3d 1232 (Miss. 2020).
The basic elements the government must demonstrate to prove that a defendant was an accessory before-the-fact are: (1) someone committed the underlying crime; (2) the defendant advised and agreed, urged the parties, or in some way aided them to commit the offense; and (3) the defendant was not present when the offense was committed. See Evans v. State, 145 So. 3d 674 (Miss. 2014).
The quantity of the aid is immaterial and may come through some intermediary. The aid or counsel may be far removed in time from the commission of the crime, although it must be shown to have retained some relationship to it by causing, encouraging, or assisting the offense.
An accessory before-the-fact is as liable as a principal actor and may be indicted without regard to whether the principal has been convicted. One can be indicted as an accessory before-the-fact even if the accessory does not have the capability to perform the crime.
Per Al.com, police said in a preliminary hearing that Miles sent Miller a text message to bring Miles' gun to where the shooting took place. Miller’s car was hit twice by gunfire during the shooting.
Miles texted Miller to bring his gun to where they were, according to police.
“It’s sad. We knew about that — can’t control everything anybody does outside of practice," Oats said. "Nobody knew that was going to happen. College kids are out, Brandon hasn’t been in any type of trouble or is in any type of trouble in this case. Wrong spot at the wrong time.”

DX has put out their 2024 mock. Bilal Coulibaly is ranked number 8, but he is draft eligible this year I believe. I think it would be ideal to draft him this year, stash him for a year, and then have him on a fresh rookie deal after starting for Mets for a season.
Also notable, Bronny James in the top 10. DX claims it’s because he’s made a big leap in his senior season, I think he’s being included for clicks. Having said that, do we draft Bronny, then sign LeBron in FA?

This is 1000% for clicks. I don’t think Bronny is even a first round prospect.
Maybe if you have two picks or a contender. What is 1-2 years of LBJ and a bust first round pick going to do for a lottery team? Only makes sense for a top 3 teamIs he a first round prospect of he gets you LeBron though?
It is kinda funny how he skyrocketed from 4 star prospect (which was likely boosted anyways) to top 10 NBA prospect based on “perimeter defense” from what some people are saying.
Who knows, I could be completely wrong. I thought LaMelo sucked until he played in the NBA. But I’m with you with….definitely looks like it was for clicks.
And I ain't even mad... if I was Givony I absolutely do this. What is the downside? Sell out to the media machine and get them clicks homey. Is he a first round prospect of he gets you LeBron though?

You know, as much as I want the Jazz to get a chip, I absolutely do NOT want the Jazz to be just a footnote of another franchise LeDouchebag carried to another ring. Let him fizzle out in LA and retire in relative obscurity.Dame, Bronny, LeBron, Lauri, Kessler. Let's do it.
Dont worry. Now that West looks more scary again, Lebron will escape back to the leastern conference. Probably joins that Cavs team "for old times sake".You know, as much as I want the Jazz to get a chip, I absolutely do NOT want the Jazz to be just a footnote of another franchise LeDouchebag carried to another ring. Yeah give him his one year with Bronny and then he can go. The NBA will be overall better when he retires, tbpfhwymf impfho.Dont worry. Now that West looks more scary again, Lebron will escape back to the leastern conference. Probably joins that Cavs team "for old times sake".![]()
