2023 NBA Draft Megathread

I wrote him off when Elizah Huge started bringing him up, but when I have watched he has been very good. He's probably just at 6'3 in shoes with a 6'6ish wingspan and he's quicker than you'd think.

Just hard for me to buy it when the dude was super *** last season and pretty mediocre at a mid major his Freshman year. He's had a huge glow up this year. If he can have a nice tourney I could see him declaring if he wants to get drafted in the 2nd round. Or he could just return to school, continue to boost his stock/become NBA ready and enter the NBA more mature. I can definitely see him as a decent backup PG tho, but I wouldn't take him ahead of a Marcus Sasser.
i actually had the same concern regarding the previous season - beware of guys who were crap and then had a huge jump. if he could come back and show he can do it again - that this season isn't an anomaly, i'd feel a lot more confident.

How is that relevant?
The only interest I have in Miller is the attention I give his game as a potential Jazz player. Those odds are almost gone now thats why it is relevant.
How would you like to be the org that drafted him at 3 only to watch him become Henry Ruggs and out of the league before he even got started. When they could have taken someone similar.
Miller homers keep ignoring facts surrounding that Capital crime case that will absolutley impact him in civil court for being there. Even if he continues to pretend he wasn not aware the gun he brought to the scene was soon to be a murder weapon. It matters. But keep thinking it doesn't.

Yup, and Marquette should be incredible next season if he returns. They are all underclassmen and they don't have anyone who should be declaring for the draft.

i watched a full marquette game for the first time saturday vs uconn - damn, that team is crazy good - they embody all the cliche terms you hear in the sports world - tough, smart, hard working, give 100% defensively, blah blah - but it's true. that's a team you can beat if you match their toughness and intensity (and you are very good yourself), but you are going to hate every minute of it. i didn't know they had everybody back - but offensively Kolek is the key to everything they do. for their sake i hope he stays.

Again, how is any of this relevant?

Someone said the Jazz WOULD take Miller at #3, your response was that the Jazz won't even be in the lottery. How is that relevant? Now you're trying to make some Henry Ruggs comparison. I don't get it.

You want to make a prediction that Miller won't go in the top three? Okay, fine. That's a separate thing.

Kolek and OMP are both getting heavy NBA interest RIGHT NOW. No way Prosper doesn't at least test the waters and he is a NBA caliber wing with upside that could get 1st round looks as is.
Kolek might be better off staying one more season if they get booted early, but he is far more likely to punch his ticket to being our 3rd 1st rounder in that 25-30 range in this draft after they get to the final 4

Clearly you dont read my posts. I never ****ing said he wasnt getting picked in the high lottery. I said innefficient chucking does not separate him as a better prospect than others already firmly in the same draft range . Ruggs was an elite baller that is done based on one mistake. Miller could easily be the same. It matters

Uh, maybe you should read the posts you respond to.

The Jazz would 100% draft Miller at #3

we are not even going to be in the lottery dumbass smh
Tell me how that’s a relevant response? Because that’s what my question was. If you can’t do that, why aren’t you reading the posts you respond to while also criticizing me for doing the same thing?

Marquette is getting slept on. I think they have a really good shot of making the Final Four.

Good luck getting intelligent responses here. lol.

Players decisions don't fall on the rankings of bloggers and hobbyist. I'm sure he will get some predraft work with NBA teams and they will let him know how they view him. Makes no sense IMO for him to come out when he's set to inherit the UCLA team. If he's as good as you are saying, he will be in line to be a first rounder next season.

The players decisions absolutely fall on their draft stock. It is the most important consideration. Amari Bailey is not ranked low because people do not believe he will declare. If he came out today and said he's signing an agent and declaring for the draft he wouldn't shoot up draft boards. Come on now.

That's Toby's kid right? He's probably not strapped for cash and can wait. I'd be cool with waiting if I was him. Next year's draft seems fairly weak based on what people are saying... UCLA probably not a bad place to be.

Going back to school is not a great way to improve draft stock IMO. There will be a few who increase their stock, but most do not. I believe the NBA has become more lenient and allows players to talk with teams more easily to understand their draft stock to make a better decision....If I was a second rounder and I was confident in a team that wanted me I would declare.

Bailey was a really popular high school player, however, so he might be making more money playing at UCLA in the meantime.

NBA teams will tell him what his stock is.
