What's new

Cousins demands a trade!

I have the odd feeling that we're going to talk a lot about this... Maybe even hear some strong rumors that make us all salivate (like a Raja and Al for Cousins trade) only to have our hopes squashed by a contender stealing him away for basically nothing (like the Celtics or Lakers getting him. For some reason, I have a feeling that the Spurs might even get him. Pop's structure combined with Duncan would be perfect for his assimilation into the Borg).

How about this for some jaw dropping breaking news.

The Jazz will surprise us and make no move at all.

I would trade Al for him but the Jazz wont do it. We all know the Jazz. They don't make big moves unless of course it is to move your cornerstone franchise piece. Let's just face it, the Jazz are going to jam that Jefferson Bell combo down our throats all season long.

And after Utah makes several more trades, there will still be people claiming the Jazz never do anything.

Sactown is not going to give the Jazz both Cousins and Jimmer for AJ and garbage. I have mixed emotions about acquiring Cousins. Talent wise it is a no brainer but he is immature in many ways. I think he has grow frustrated with the lack of touches because he plays on a team of chuckers. There is no way Jimmer is involved because Jimmer is making the Kings a boat load of money in Jersey sales.

I would trade AJ straight up for Cousins because of the financial relieve. We could trade Cousins later if he starts complaining about his role in Utah. I am sure he would help us to move up in the draft. Perhaps we could trade him to NJ for their first round pick this year (if dwight doesn't go there).

I would insist on giving them CJ or Bell and we could take back Gracia or Salmon. I rather have Garcia instead of Salmon but the Kings would want to dump Salmon's contract.

No way would I give up Kanter or Favors.

PKM keep posting your comments. I think for the most part you are very fair. I guess everyone from Utah are homers about the Jazz. Come on just because you are a fan of a certain team doesn't make you a homer. Certainly everyone has bias in their opinion but a homer is someone who never criticizes their team/players even when it is obvious that they warrant criticism. A homer cannot be objective when the facts/observations contradict the homer's opinion. Denial is a big part of being a homer. PKM does talk about Kentucky a lot but it is because he is knowledgeable about what goes on at Kentucky. The fact that he is from there or likes the program doesn't automatically make him a homer. Nor more does living in Utah make you a Utah Jazz homer.

I haven't looked at it closely, but before people start throwing out Al for Cousins trade ideas, remember there's the salary floor that we need to stay above.

Why would we want a center with emotional issues that can't seem to shoot above 45% even though he's 6'11? I get that we don't like Big Al, but Cousins is not a guy that we want on our team.

I'd do the trade. If nothing else, it might be the final straw that sends CarolinaJazz over the edge.

I wasn't sold on the idea until now. Make it happen, KOC.

I like your thinking here, but I'm afraid there really is no edge for a backwater prick like him. I just adds fuel to his burning, flaming, gay fire.

Because, of course, Sacramento would jump at the chance to pay a guy they don't want 29 million dollars instead of paying a guy they don't want 8 million dollars.

Cousins is this generation's Derrick Coleman. No thanks.

I seriously doubt Cousins will ever put up the numbers that Coleman did.

If Cousins is acting like this now, how do you think he is going to act toward the idiots that give him a 60 million dollar deal?

Sacramento will want Favors or Kanter and more.
Why would Jazz ever do this?
Trade a great prospect for a head case.

I would rather see Jefferson stay 1 more year than having Cousins, he is a contagious disease

Unfortunately Trout is probably correct. CJ actually gets off on being annoying so a situation like this would be a godsend for him.
