2023 NBA Draft Megathread

draft pick.. maybe take a bad contract for a favorable one too.
If they are trading a great pick (will probably be able to get Whitmore or a Thompson Twin) they arent going to do it for multiple worse picks. They will want a very highly regarded win now player at a position of need.

1. It's really not
2. Good luck
3. Only if the Jazz pull off getting the #1 pick with their own selection, then hell yeah, go for it.
Directly it doesn't make a ton of sense, but breaking that pick into a couple picks might allow them to get a couple players they like. Could also layer in a KO/Nurkic swap (I wouldn't like that as I think the guy is cooked).

I agree we aren't a natural fit but not sure there are a lot of "sellers" out there for what they would want. So you break the asset into a couple future picks because once you drive the pick off the lot it could lose some value.

If the Jazz had a player on Sexton's level at a different position I think they could work something out, but IDK how they do it otherwise.

Maybe 9+16+Ochai for 6? If you really love Ausar or Jarace (assuming one of those is there, wouldnt do it for Whitmore personally). I could maybe get behind that? That's a decent package just to move up 3 spots (or is it the 5th pick? Either way I would be targeting a twin or Jarace)

The Blazers will likely ask for an All Star or near All Star-type player for a pick in the 5 - 7 range. Last year, they wanted OG Anunoby for the #7 pick and were turned down by the Raptors. Jazz aren't a great trade partner for the Blazers in a 2-way trade, imo. There might be a 3-way scenario that could work though.

What do you think our Laker pick would be worth if we tried to cash it in for something in this draft? Do you think that pick PLUS the Wolves pick this year together might be worth a 5-8 range pick this year? Thoughts?

This year is a strong draft and the Laker's pick is an unknown. However, the Laker pick would make a nice sweetner (wildcard) to add to more concrete a deal involving a player or more defined pick, imo.

At this point you probably have to rank all the future Wolves picks as our best assets, then the latter two Cavs picks, then the Lakers pick, then the 2025 pick then all of Utah's own picks.
