2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Hendricks makes too much sense for the Pistons IMO. I'm not a Hendricks guy, but he fits the team to a T. If they love him it's probably too risky for them to trade back w/ Utah because he could go anywhere 6-8, but maybe it's something that could happen.

I don't think a team could pass on Whitmore for Hendricks. If Whitmore is off the board already, then I guess Hendricks could come into play.

Call washington... tell em they can have THT, 9, 28 for Monte Morris and 8. THT is perfect for a tank team so he opts in to avoid a pg logjam and ends up averaging the least efficient but most fun triple double over a season. Washington wins 20 games with THT and Ausar doing fun things. We get Morris and Black to run pg and take a leap forward.

I just hate the Cam fit and Detroit just loves big men. Hendricks shoots it and they need shooting. They don't need a Cam (and I personally dont think he's that good).

I’m down, 100%.

If Amen gets past Houston would he fall to 8? Orlando has Fultz, Suggs already... they got athletic pgs that can't shoot. Is that even what they want in a pg with Franz/Paolo?

Houston has a pretty big potential to kinda make things get weird.

Jazz are looking at 6 guards right now: Black, Bufkin, Wallace, George, Hood-Schifino and probably one of the Thompsons. That's just a ton of guards in the 7 - 16 range.

Possibly. But that's why the Jazz would trade up with Indiana to scoop him up. Detroit would draft a wing. Orlando would draft someone who can shoot. Indiana wants a wing who can shoot.

The new trend in the league is the big wing who can initiate. So a guard that can't shoot and can't play off the ball isn't exactly everyone's favorite archetype right now.

Trading out of Ausar to grab Black? HELL no.

It could be the other way around too... I'm just back in on Black. IDK

The Jazz are blowing smoke like my old '65 Ford Falcon did. One day it's Bufkin, then it's Keyonte, then it's Hood-Schifino. The Jazz just unequivocally love every guard within reach.

I think Dallas or maybe Washington (Sexton obviously a good time on a rebuilding team) would take a look. I also think NY might buy in since Quickley may come in over budget for them. @KqWIN called that scenario out too.

I think Sexton would have some interest, but just like Ochai... not sure how much he moves the needle.
I think Sexton is better than Quickly, so it could be more than a budget/contract issue. Also a better talent issue.

I think Indiana may end up trading #7 for OG... which changes a lot of things about how the draft could play out. If Amen was there I bet Masai would take that bet.

Amen is the player that gives me the most queasiness to pick/pass on. He's probably going number 4....I just have no idea what kind of player HOU is getting and I don't love the development program they've got there. I don't even know who they should take instead though. Don't like Cam in HOU either. There would be no passing ever. I would try to trade out of that pick if I were them.

i think i have to say this before the draft ive been really down on scoot. i think i may have been wrong. his latest workout videos have been off the chart athletic and he was making on the move 3s with ease. if he works on his shot he could be amazing. still want whitmore in a trade up, but id consider scoot.
