2023 Trade Rumors and Gossip Involving the Jazz

I think Zion got his dream life and is good. He will do just enough to get another huge contract. I don't expect him to go above and beyond to be in top shape and all that, which is probably what he needs to be healthy

If he could stay healthy it would be fine and not a big deal as he is that talented. He probably could coast thought his conditioning and dominante in a Shaq esque fashion.

This is a bit off topic, but seems like as good of a place as any to stick this rant:

I absolutely LOVE going over this thread each and every day because it never fails to make me chuckle and remind me that my current favorite sports trend is your run-of-the-mill sports fan (all sports fans, not just Jazz fans) using their favorite scouting lingo and catch phrases that they’ve memorized while watching youtube clips of ACTUAL professional scouts, and they do so all for the sake of sounding intelligent while trying to justify why “Player A” is the obvious pick for the Jazz at #9 and anybody who disagrees with them is an moran.

Jumping on here and reading that some Jazzfanz posters who probably have a day job as an accountant or tax examiner for the IRS have actually taken the time to rank 1st round prospects 1-thru-30 is seriously some of the silliest **** I’ve ever heard of.

I’ve been a diehard sports fan for 40 years and I’ve never even considered ranking a draft class in any sport. Obviously, we all have prospects that we like/don’t like for various reasons. I’m certainly no different and it’s entertaining as hell to come in here and discuss those opinions with other Jazz fans, but some of you REALLY take yourselves way too seriously at this point. In reality, you’re just as dumb as I am, and I’m definitely just as dumb as the next guy.

That being said, please keep it up!! Reading a PER draft breakdown from the guy who changes my oil is absolutely the best form of free entertainment that I have found in quite awhile. Bravo to all of you unpaid scouts. Your genius is recognized.
If that entertains you then you should check out the general discussion forum.

This Frozen Picks thing for second apron teams is going to send Phoenix spiraling for a decade after all the draft stuff they have given up. It is absolutely vicious. They better win a title with this group cuz they ain’t getting any draft help for like 10 years.

And that's why I hate this for Phoenix. Just literally got robbed.

When I drove Uber in Vegas, I had many clients that made their living as regular joes betting on sports.

In fact, there was only one ride I ever wanted to cancel, and it was 2 white frat boys I was giving a ride to DraftKings. They were smacking their gum the whole way. Took everything I had to not pit bull them

I didn't quite understand it... but basically once they do get control of a first round pick in 8 years... it will be the last pick of the draft... and then if they continue to roll forward each year over the tax they add another year to the tab. The second apron was essentially supposed to be so punitive that it is a hard cap... Suns said YOLO and are going to end up eating dirt for a decade... banners fly forever so if they win one its worth it... but they maxed out the CC, refinanced the house, put a loc out on several internal organs, pawned their wedding rings.... etc.

Excuse me, this analogizing is my territory.

No one forced Washington to sign him to the new contract, if they were smart they would have traded him with a couple of years on his old contract and started a rebuild. Similar to what the Jazz did with Gobert.
lol He forced them to pay him just like every first option on any roster does, with the threat of walking leaving them nothing but space. Of course at that point they were not letting him walk, so the leverage was his all along. So they needed to get out from under his thumb is the motivation and pay someone cheaper via draft to do the same thing he was doing and have flex with other roster spots so they continue their pathetic treadmill game plan. They will never tank imo, and they will never be a contender either.
Washington is a joke org. But in this case the Suns are fools, I don't care what anyone says.

It will be hard for a team to sign him outright... that he would want to go to. Maybe Houston gets wild with an offer but if he opted out I always thought that was a sign he would return to GS. Might even do like 4/100 and take a little less the first year to ease the tax.
