Gesundheit! So Toronto has watched Leonard, Lowry, FVV walk out the door and all they have to show for it is Precious Achiuwa…. Rough
Go easy on KO. We had to give up a lot of value to get him.Oh no! They might match the offer! Then they’d have to pay out a fair salary at least and hurt their situation in the year they owe us a draft pick! THEN WE’D BE OUT KELLY OLYNYK!!!
Because he’s restricted and there was a ceiling on what LA could offer but he could go get a bigger bag from someone else and have LA match. What makes everyone think Reeves would have entertained an offer from Utah? You are forgetting there are two sides to this equation. This young man gets to play for one of the most storied franchises in NBA history, next to one of the greatest players to ever play the game, in one of the world’s most desirable cities. And will get over $50 million to do so. I’m not sure he/his agent would even return the Jazz’s call and risk the Lakers not matching.
Mind you, I am saying this as a die hard Jazz fan who grew up in Salt Lake and wouldn’t be caught dead living in LA myself. I just think those of you upset that the Jazz didn’t offer him a contract is silly given you have no idea if he was even interested in talking with anyone but LA.
Cool schtick. It's not robbery, they drafted him.
I'm sure he wanted to make sure he stayed in LA as well. He got a 7 figure shoe deal. He ain't getting that anywhere else.
Reaves signs where he gets the most money. Period.Because he’s restricted and there was a ceiling on what LA could offer but he could go get a bigger bag from someone else and have LA match.
That’s why, at least at the very minimum.
Trying to make your own team better and make your competition that owe you a draft pick worse are the same thing in a competitive environment.Turns out NBA teams are more focused on executing their plan to make their best team than trying to be petty.
He signed that contract less than 12 hours ago...Reportedly Blazers are shopping Grant now.
