Where's the reports saying he wants to go here. I see he only wants to go to an Eastern contender
Portland said they are still in win now mode despite Dame leaving. Thats a problem for anyone trading for Dame since the package cant be centered around future assets. We would rather deal with a rebuilding team.
This isn’t my understanding. My takeaway, and what WOJ said on ESPN, was that they wanted a return that reflected a superstar-level trade. WOJ went on to say that might include immediate cap relief, young players, and draft assets.
I think their statements are conveying they don’t plan to just accept a subpar offer from the Heat.
Direct statement from Cronin was: “We have been clear that we want Dame here but he notified us today he wants out and he’d prefer to play someplace else. What has not changed for us is that we’re committed to winning, and we are going to do what’s best for the team in pursuit of that goal,”This isn’t my understanding. HoopsHype had that phrased a bit differently after they had just released it which lead me to believe there was more to it than that phrase but they since retracted that article so I assume it was a bit of a clickbait. The rumors that they are looking to deal Grant speak louder about a rebuild though, so lets assume they will take a package centered around future pieces.
What has not changed is that the Blazers were absolutely shameless tankers twice in two years.Direct statement from Cronin was: “We have been clear that we want Dame here but he notified us today he wants out and he’d prefer to play someplace else. lmao are you serious? That is a press statement, he doesnt have to say anything except everything he wants to say.Lol what else is he supposed to say? We’re going to play the young guys and get a top pick next year?

My whole point was that was taken to "Blazers looking to get immediate impact players in return for Lillard" type of articles, and when I read those I didn't realize that press statement was the only clue they said that for.
Yeah and my post was made 8 hours ago.Woj just said they want salary cap relief, young players and picks.

Yup. You can even make the argument that it was pretty clear when they decided against trading the N°3 pick. Dame time in Portland was over.Regardless, Portland is not in win-now mode 8 hours ago or not.
Saying that they are committed to winning doesn't mean they want win now pieces. Committed to winning likely means doing what is in the best interest of the franchise to compete for a title. As of now that means as many assets as possible.lmao are you serious? That is a press statement, he doesnt have to say anything except everything he wants to say.

I think this is mostly posturing. Eventually they cave to Dames wishes when the Heat give them everything they can. It will require the picks, Jacquez, Jovic, eating Nurks contract… it will also depend on finding a home for Herro.
