Summer League Thread

because the talent level of prospects is not the same as what the US has and they cannot produce NBA stars with regularity.
Exactly. This is what we are talking about. Its not xenophobic or whatever. Its just the way it is. Basketball is different here in the states. There are hoops everywhere. Everyone has played basketball here. Of course france wont produce many nba players. Just like germany wont and finland wont and yugoslavia wont.
Not many other countries are very good at producing nfl prospects either.

US is not very good at producing soccer prospects in the top leagues. No biggie. Such a weird thing to get so hung up about lol.

Yeah, most of his points came from fast break layups and dunks so I would hope it’s high.

He shot 5/21 from 3 in the playoffs with most of them being open shots. Not great.
Damn he missed some 3s must be awful then. There isn't more to basketball than shooting, that's for sure. Tell me what else you can makeup from looking at box scores because we know you don't actually watch games.

I didn't ignore the other part, I was literally saying the other part. I repeated it several times, in fact lol. Is it not possible to have different opinions on the two arguments? Or do you have to disagree with both because I disagree with one?
Well i came out and asked you if its ok that we discuss a players production AND where they played like we have been doing all along. A simple yes or no would suffice.

Good lord man. You are really missing the point.

If this is true then you should be able to show that there are way more nba players from that league than from the NCAA.
No you shouldn't. We are talking about grown men playing professional basketball vs college amateurs... a lot of them very young and underdeveloped.

College amatuers who can play in the nba though (if the nba were allowed to take them anyway) and grown men (who the nba could take if they wanted to) who cant.

Seems like I did give analysis from watching games that you didn’t rebut so must be accurate.

So every American who gets drafted pans out? What's the percentage?
No. you are missing the point/discussion again. The discussion is about what league does or does not produce a lot of nba talent (weird that I had to type that out for you)
Leagues in the US? Lots. Other leagues? Not lots. Easy peasy.

And here we are again. If the NCAA (or whatever) exclusively produced busts for 10 years then people would probably start noticing the trend.
Jesus it seems so obvious. sigh.
Im bowing out at this point. (you're welcome everyone!)

It’s so good it hasn’t produced an NBA player in over a decade.

Wemby came from the French League. If the lack of recent French talent means something, it must also mean that Wembymeans something for Bilal. It either does or it doesn't matter. You cannot have it both ways and decide that Wemby is too good to be considered French League talent. When there was a ton of talent coming from the French league it did not mean more was coming. There was a long dry spell, but now the best French talent ever is coming into the league. The recent level of talent coming from the French league has had no predictive utility in the past and I see no reason to believe it does now. You have to evaluate the players as individuals.

Has a new point been brought up in the last 5 pages or are has it just been everyone gargling backwash?
*BUT, NO, THERE IS NO RULE THAT A LEAGUE CANNOT PRODUCE PROSPECTS DESPITE A CRAZY COLD STREAK. AND IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE ABOUT NATIONALITY. BUT PEOPLE TEND TO NOTICE TRENDS BECAUSE TRENDS OFTEN BUT NOT ALWAYS POINT TO *SOMETHING*. IT’S ONE DATA POINT BUT WE SHOULD BE ETERNALY SPLITTING THAT HAIR AND BEING SURE TO DOLLOP ON A BUNCH OF MORALISTIC PANNING WHEN SOMEONE DISAGREES.

NOW, HOW MANY MORE PAGES SHALL WE PRODUCE WHERE THESE POINTS AND THEIR NUANCES GET COMPLETELY ****ING IGNORED?

So if Bilal is really good, does the French League suddenly become a place where people won't entirely dismiss a prospects talent?

You don't actually talk ball when you talk prospects. There's usually nothing to rebut. You just post a box score line. Sometimes you don't even do that and just make up the box score line

Lol… no. Wemby is a generational prospect. He’s the exception to the rule. Like I said if you put up great stats at a young age international chances are you will be good in the NBA. Spoiler alert Bilal didn’t as well as the prior busts from the same league. It’s a trend that isn’t in his favor. Does that mean he can’t be an exception as well? Of course not.

Mic drop and on that note I am bowing out with Fish as well.
