I think this thread was done a while back, but now that the game is here what is your plan?? Boo him, cheer him, or no reaction? My thoughts? The guy made this team exciting and worthwhile for 6 years. He's getting well deserved cheers from me.

I'll also dump beer on anyone booing Memo (I'm sure miraculously there will be a few)

I do not understand this. They are for what ever reason or series of events no longer Jazz men. In fact them doing well in a Jazz game at this point is directly detremental to the Jazz. I wish him a awesome stay in NJ with many wins and accomplishments. But when he faces Utah I will boo. I want him to lose when he faces Utah.

You don't have to cheer him every play. Just give him a standing O when they do starting lineups.

I would be down for throwing him a cheer when introduced but if he hits a big 3 or gets a block I will boo. I am a Jazz fan not a Memo (insert any other player as well) fan.

Well that is generally what is expected. Most fans don't cheer every thing the player does, just when they are announced, or maybe the first time they touch the ball. Just show, "Hey Dwill, thanks for making Utah a fun/competitive team for those years".
 
Cheer. No hard feelings. Don't need to add more fuel to the fire he will already have. Plus we want him to come back remember?
 
He took this team to the WCF. He provided some game winners, played hurt, and didn't publicly ask for a trade like many other superstars. Yeah, at times he bitched about teammates, the organization, the refs, and did not publicly state he'd re-sign, but he did all of these last things because he wanted to win. Not just because he wanted "a raise regardless."

I'm not saying we cheer him all game, but I hope he's not booed. We traded him, he didn't leave us. Yeah he might have run Sloan out, but we took that out on him already in the weeks following that. We were cheering him when he left so I'd hope we give him a thankful applause the first time he returns.

As for Memo, I would have sex with him if he wanted me to. So I'd be pissed if he was booed.

I agree. But based on the terrible behavior of Deron last season, I'd give Okur a standing "O" and give Williams token applause. The are few players I'd boo. Not surprisingly, most either play for the Lakers or Heat!

I don't think he's coming back, but I do think other players notice the way a fan base acts. These guys aren't just players, they're human beings like the rest of us. I personally just don't see anyone being all that impressed by fans who turn to hate so easily, and forget all the positive contributions. Gratitude and compassion for a tough situation just seem more sensible to me.
 
I'm gonna wear my DWill jersey...'cause that's the only jersey I have. And I'm gonna write HOWARD on a piece of paper and tape it to the back. Yes! Saving money. :cool:

Oh, and no booing from me.
 
Save the boos for guys who deserve it. Otherwise you deflate the boo's value and make them common.
ie: Boo Fisher. Don't boo Deron.
