Potential Trade Targets

There is probably less than a 5% chance you could get a player as good or better than Dunn with that pick. Unless Dunn has told you there is no way he is going to re-sign, you keep Dunn.

That may be the case but I think there is pretty good shot that he will be gone this offseason. I will also take as many bites at the apple as I possibly can to hit on possible steals in the draft.

It would be kind of insane for the Lakers to willingly trade D'Lo to a team they are probably going to play during a play-in game.

I know he is known for sucking in the playoffs (did have a great series vs Memphis last year), but he would undoubtedly make Utah a better team.

I remember this happening to someone's pick recently, can't remember which team, but I remember if the pick was in the lottery it went to one team and if it went outside the lottery it went to someone else.

I suppose the only way it works is if is 1st where if it doesn't convey it doesn't move forward to future years. I'm pretty sure if the Laker's pick doesn't convey it becomes a second, so in that case you could do it.
I think the Knicks have a pick that only conveys if the Bucks land 1-4 in a certain draft year.

Removing the stupid idea of wanting DLo, you are going to have to match his salary, no? Are they going to take back Collins?
Not sure what the details of the trade would be. You wouldnt have to match dollar for dollar. The Jazz have plenty of expendable players.

IT's massive value and D'Lo is not a negative value player despite what LA media might want you to think. They just like scapegoating. Not saying he is great or that I would want to plan to keep him long-term, but there wouldnt be any issue trading him as an expiring next year and he would actively make the team better this season and next.

Also interesting is that OKC has a full roster and 5 plus picks in a mediocre draft. They are going to waste those picks like Orlando is wasting players.
Odds are they combine picks to move up and trade other picks for future picks. Would you mind clarifying how Orlando is wasting players?

There's lots of ways to get there. It would be in a three or four team deal. We'd also be moving JC so wrap em all together if it makes it easier.

Based on purely production... it isn't a downgrade to go from JC to Dlo.

Also Dlo being expiring next year makes it easier to move if you want to.

Dlo seems to wear like a boat for every franchise that gets him. The greatest days are the day he gets aquired and the day he eventually gets traded.

I would listen to the deal where we part with Clarkson for the rest of the Lakers pick AND that Dallas pick though.

OBPM is usually a pretty good indicator of a player being good at offense for you team.

D'Lo has been at or above 2.0 for the last 6 seasons. He's not some scrub. He's not a great winning player if you want to do deep playoff runs, but the Jazz arent there yet.

How many teams are trading future picks for picks in the 24 draft? Anyone who might (contenders needing to fill a slot for cheap) don't really have many picks to give.

This draft isn't deep either. Good luck trading up.

He's just gone to franchises that were in stages were they wanted to win a ring, or felt like they had to win a ring.

D'Lo isnt that guy. If Utah was competing for a ring I'd say no.

They arent. They are competing for a play in spot and D'Lo is perfect for that.

You can easily reverse this ridiculous narrative that he is somehow a negative value player on his contract.

Removing the protections is a win. Jordan goes to where he will be loved and can get a lot more market money, he can probably help the locker room. Trade Dlo in year for a pick. Nice
