What's new

Game #12 Jazz@Denver, Sunday 1/15 6:00 p.m.

I actually think Al is a better passer than Millsap when they are both facing up or posted up. AL just spends way more time with his back to the basket, which is a much harder position to pass out of.

Millsap is the best player that can ever be with his current size and talent, Big Al is the worst that can be with that good size and talent

I think our chemistry hasn't been this good in a long time... Maybe in playoffs in 07? The last time I saw the Jazz play with this amount of effort and chemistry, was when we pulled together and dumped the Nuggets in the playoffs after Memo went down... But that was short lived as the Lakers tore us apart and Boozer reverted back to his selfish pansie ways.

Other than that.... Maybe 07?

That defense is becoming dominate. And our offense is finally starting to click. If Bell can give us that kind of burn consistently, he'll finally be that badass leader that we need. What an incredible play he did chasing down Lawson and blocking that shot.

Utah had terrific chemistry for the last 2/3's of the 2009-10 season and during the playoffs. They lost to LA because the Lakers were the superior team. Had great chemistry for the last 1/2 of the 07-08 season as well. Amazing what winning can do to "chemistry."

Overall it's hard to compare 3 weeks watching this team play to entire season's in the past, as even in some of Utah's poorer seasons (03-04, 04-05, 08-09) they still had little 2-week stretches where they showed alot of effort and togetherness.

We've had a relatively easy schedule the past 2 weeks so it's easy to get along when you're winning. I want to see how we react when we drop a couple games in a row. Do we hang our heads and get that "here we go again" look or do we dig our heels in and fight back? That's one of the fun things to watch when you've got a young team that needs to grow together.

We lost to LA because we sucked in defense, i have never seen Utah having good defense in the last 5 years, we had slightly more hustle in the year we played against spurs, but thats it. Right now we still dont have good defense, but we show some good signs, at least we dont let easy baskets.

Damn, missed second half... but looks like we dominated thuggets on their home court, very nice and surprising quality win! I guess they are better then expected then:)

I have to admit, I did not expect this. I figured the jazz would still stink on the road, but I was proved wrong!
How about Big Al now being the passer out of the post and the ball movement by the whole team goes up.

Maybe this team is for real.
WHat I love most is the attitude. You can see it in all of the players' faces now.

We may be witnessing something special...

Must spread some rep, apparently.

Much more talented and much more experienced teams fall into this "frontrunner" trap. See the Heat last year(and later this year, I guarantee it). When they're winning, it's all cross-court lobs, high fives in front of the Mavs bench and flexing their muscles to the camera. They lose, and it's sulking, crying, player's-only-meetings, and making fun of people who don't make as much as you.

Half our roster don't even have a 100 NBA games under their belt. The team was supposed to stink this year, according to nearly everyone, but they're suddenly 8-4. It's easy to assume that you've just somehow skipped that rebuilding period and went straight to a 6-7 seed. When losses start to pile up and when tough losing streaks on the road happen, we'll see how some of the younger guy react. Remember, a few of them aren't even old enough to drink.

It is not a secret that we have players with good attitudes. There is no problem kid like Cousins or any capricious superstar like Melo or Deron in this team, but still, there is nothing special to witness. It is too early to get carried away. We are just a good team, not a contender

We just beat Denver on the road. It's special enough for me. And I just so much look forward to the next game, and the next one, and especially the one against Porty, since I'll be in the lower bowl (bragging.jpg)

We are good team, and Denver is very overrated in American media i think. So even though im surprised with this win, im not shocked. We can do much better than this but a simple Denver win shouldnt be a threshold for being a contender right away

There has been a lot said about Devin Harris not being a good pg for the jazz.
He may not be John Stockton, but he did have 7 assists tonight. Not earth-shattering, but worth mentioning.
Also worth mentioning:
Watson and Harris combined tonight for 48 minutes, 14 points, 14 assists, on 6-11 shooting, 2-4 from three.
I can live with that

I might be the first person to watch a Jazz game in Mariánské Lázně.
Have we ever had any Czech fans here?

The internet was pretty good up here in this mountain village. Good game with a stocked mini bar of Czech Pilsner, and the orignial Budweiser(Budvar).
No 3.2 "beer" here....

Srsly though. I would die of happiness if we signed Ostertag to a 10 day contract to replace Favors if he misses a couple of games for the ankle.

Seriously you have to be joking. Ostertag was a bum and if he had even half tried we would have at least one if not 2 championship banners hanging up in the rafters.
