I noticed Booner was the color man with Bolerjack tonight, and it seemed to me that Boler has a much better rapport with Freakazoid. So, I was wondering what others on here thought. Who do you prefer, the Freak or Booner? Not that the Booner is a bad guy. In fact, he seems like a standup person but I think the Freak is already a better broadcaster.

Booner struggles with words, sentences, common sense, analogies, knowledge. With that said, I'd take him over Harp and Locke any day.

If Booner could talk at regular human speed and consistency, I would pick him. He just too damn slow. I always feel like he is on the verge of falling asleep.

Over Locke? In a heartbeat. I'd take Kathy Griffen over Locke. But I'm down with Mop, er, Freakazoid. Boone has had his time, and he proved to be... acceptable? Time for Mop, who has shown a very good knowledge of the Jazz system (I love it when he criticizes players for missing assignments that we, the casual fan, would have no idea about -- makes it a hell of a lot more interesting if you ask me), has great enthusiasm, and has no awkward silence.

Harpring brings more basketball knowledge and insight (Not to mention excitement) than old Booner, but he makes me cringe with his awful catchphrases and sayings. Also, it can get really annoying when he and Bolerjack miss a big play because they are too busy talking about things like "signage" and fry sauce.

So - neither?

Booner is the first black guy I've seen with blue eyes
His eyes are green, not blue (I've met him). Lots of black people have green eyes. I know several with green eyes.

Harpring is way better than Booner, not even close. I think Harpring is one of the best color men in the league. He's the Troy Aikman of Fox NFL.

I much prefer Booner. Harping, I feel like tries to talk over the game too much to get the attention to himself instead of the game on hand, and talks way too loud for my taste.

Probably the major reason I prefer the Freak over Booner and which no one mentioned is that, to me, he is just flat out more entertaining to listen to. Booner talks in an unemotional, monotone while Freak is very enthusiastic and adds funny comments along the way that Booner almost never makes. And he and Boler are always busting on each other, though sometimes that can be a distraction -- maybe they ought create a stand-up act --

Or annoying to listen to.

About 75% of what Freakazoid/Harpring says is just down right non-basketball related (fry sauce, signage, Jazz nation, "Enes the Menace", etc, etc). If I want comedy I would have gone to a comedy club. When he talks basketball he is on point - I give him that - but that's only 25% of the time it seems like.

At least Booner tries to stick to basketball most of the time. Plus Booner doesn't love the sound of his own voice the way Freakazoid/Harpring does.

I don't mind a switch up once in while, its refreshing. A couple things that annoy me though:
-Every single 3 the Jazz make (leads to a donating promo for mountain america) ***not that I have a problem with donations, but there should be a visual reminder instead.
-Boler rookie comments to Harpring
-From Big Al to Al J
-Don't like the kantershop :S nickname
-The reluctance to call out Raja or Chucker

In the end, I do like Harpring's straightforwardness on what the Jazz need to do. I also tend to like coach Phil analysis during half time.

Harpring is terrible. He's more concerned with catch phrases than he is the game. Boone all day.

They call CJ out all the time.
