Wikileaks front man Assange is set to enter a plea deal with the US and return to Australia. overall this is a decent outcome, all be it 10 years too late. I will openly admit I hate Julian Assange and I think he's a detestable person, however what he did with WikiLeaks was incredibly important and to my mind there should be a lot more of it. Unfortunately the person at the center of it is a repulsive narcissist. Hes done remarkably well compared to his fellow travellers. I hold a forlorn hope that once he gets home he shuts his mouth and doesn't make a **** of himself. I find this unlikely.

I don't like the idea of having a plea deal precedent set for a journalist that has been wrongfully imprisoned for exposing war crimes, but I am glad that he is free. It is long overdue. Journalism isn't a crime- exposing corruption and war crimes committed by the establishment is what he was serving time for. What about the folks that committed those crimes??

Haha! I haven’t heard the equal opportunity argument before, that’s creative. I didn’t realize journalists had to somehow have intelligence agents in every government in the world all at the same time. How in the hell could somebody do that? No wonder journalism is so pathetic right now. So if he had exposed Russian crimes would it then be a problem that he didn’t expose enough Canadian, or Israeli, or German government war crimes?
You’re good with sending the government your tax dollars to do torture programs, and drone strikes, and whatever other evil things they can imagine, you just don’t want to find out about it, is that it?

I love my country but I’m embarrassed that the government is completely corrupt and controlled by unelected warmongering billionaire oligarchs and the military industrial complex. I’m hoping that we can get the country back on track before it’s too late because there is no place to escape. I don’t make excuses for the fact that we have leadership that have gotten away with starting torture programs and lied it’s citizens into war after war after war. I think it’s disgusting and I’d like to see more Americans wake the hell up and quit making excuses for our obviously corrupt politicians on both sides. It’s not one side that’s corrupt and compromised in our government, it’s both sides. I don’t know how anyone could pretend otherwise.

I heard Russia is a veritable utopia. Hell they have shopping carts that don't roll backward!! I'm pretty sure we kill dozens if not hundreds every year from backwards rolling shopping carts alone.
