Following potential 2012 draftees

Beside ESPN, what other sites do you recommend? (I am not about to pay to read something on the internet. Being an insider is such a scam)

ESPN sucks just as bad, well almost. draftexpress.com is the only one with an ounce of credibility. Johnathan Givony gets overly opinionated and gets down on players with too much personal emphasis, but he has the best connections by far.

I am looking for something else to balance DX with. I agree, I really like what he does but I believe in the power of 2 witnesses. Ha, that reminds me of my missionary days.

I hear ya' but there's no other site, that I am aware of, that has demonstrated much accuracy at all. I take the DX scouting and combine it with what I personally see on the court and, more importantly, watching which NBA teams have personnel at which games. You can tell quite a bit from the latter. Every UK game, for example, has at least 3 or 4 NBA teams there to watch. I find out later (from the coaching staff) who they were there to see .. gives a bit of an idea of 1) where that franchise believes they'll be falling in the draft, and 2) where they believe the player will be chosen.

Any insider information that you can share? Teams that are looking and which players they are looking at?

Obviously, most teams watch a lot of players (10 or so) so there's no real inside info, per se. Having said that, the Wizards are in love with Anthony Davis. The Kingsm Pistons, and Hornets are all over Gilchrist and all of these are they're actually showing Teague some love as well.

The Jazz were in twice (that I know of) to specifically watch Gilchrist and Teague. They cooled on Teague and haven't been in to see Gilchrist in a while (guessing because of draft status??).

I know the Jazz have watched Miller, they're not high on P or T Jones.

More later as I remember and/or hear anything else. I'm sure I'll get blasted for sharing info .. if I do, I'll PM you some stuff.

I would appreciate that a lot. Anyone who does blast you for sharing that info can go to h***. I got your back.

P.S. The h*** stands for heck

Right now the player i am hoping for the most is q miller i think he he has a very high ceiling he just needs to fullfill his potential.

Hard to disagree. Barnes is safer but much more limited ceiling. MKG is safer, but I don't see him ever being able to effectively spread the floor.

How in the world does UConn with;

Shabazz Napier
Jeremy Lamb
Ryan Boatright
Alex Oriakhi
Andre Drummond

Lose 4 of their last 6 games ... all to unranked opponents. 5 talented starters including 2 lottery picks should be dominating unranked opponents. It's one thing to lose (no biggie), but 4 out of 6 smells of something wrong to me. Sorry, kind of off topic ..

Better first step than Deron. Better shooter than Deron. Not the floor leader (or even close) than Deron is.

Rivers is not a better shooter than Dwill. He may be at this point in his career, but his shot is not fundamentally sound and I don't see as much room for improvement as Dwill's.

Though Rivers being 6'5" vs Deron's 6'2" or 6'3" is a major advantage.

Measured 6'5 203 lbs, with a 6'7 wingspan at the Kevin Durant Skills Academy.

Physically that is Wayne Ellington's size. Big enough for SG- really tall for a point guard.

His game reminds me of Eric Gordon's.

Great point. I would like to have Rivers on the floor just because of his ability to create his own shot when needed. Not that he can get it at will, but good enough to get it in a pinch. Rivers, Burks and Hayward on the floor give you enough passing and shooting ability to be dangerous. None of them will dominate the game but they can all have their moments.

Burks is significantly taller and a better finisher around the hoop. But Rivers jump shot is much better.

For a PG prospect Damian Lillard from Weber St. is a good prospect for a late 1st round pick. He has a complete game- scores, passes, defends and has good size and athletic ability.

i try to get excited about rivers but i cant. just not convinced that he will be a PG. Unless Burks shows he can be a PG then i wouldnt mind drafting him

That is my point. If you have two or three players on the floor that have good handles and can pass the ball, do you need a true PG? Hayward, Burks and Rivers have above average handles for their positions and they can all pass the ball (when they want to) efficiently as well. Do you need a true PG on the floor at that point? I know that we are all Jazz fans and we crave a pure, elite PG, but this team can be successful without one.

Harris has good handles. He can pass. The problem with Harris is that he doesn't run the system. I honestly believe that Hayward, Burks and Rivers can run the system effectively.

If the Jazz have all three of those guys and can still draft Miller, then the Jazz just set themselves up to be better than OKC, Chicago and any other young up and coming team.
