This is contingent on how much you like the option of going into the season with Lauri. Me personally, I'm not desperate to trade him. But I don't love the tank+Lauri option enough to say that I would be greedy and pass over fair offers.
I think of all the players we have moved and could move Lauri is now the one I would personally be most rigid with. It stems from the fact that D-will wanted out, Booze wanted out, Gordo bailed, Donny seemed to want out and Rudy would have stayed but we moved on.... We have this great AS level talent that wants to stay... so if we can accomplish the task of getting a top 5-ish pick with Lauri then that is my preferred path. I'd rather lose value elsewhere if we have to.

We may end up revisiting in 12 months if the draft doesn't go how we need it to. His value may be lower for one reason or another. Its probably a risk I will take. Picks and Podz or they can GTFO... or we get a different offer we like.

Imagine logging in, seeing a few new pages and you think there might be some news/rumors and it's just posters arguing with Kqwin for pages on pages.
Its a current discussion though lol. Shams put out some "news". This is why this site and others exist.

Shocked Houston isn’t pushing here.

They have the picks and young players to make this happen and the team to add Lauri to.
They may play the role of Cleveland in this scenario. Basically silent until it happened.

This is fair, I was just mentioning that it isn't as simple as extend/not extend. Your desire to tank will factor into just how "greedy" you want to get.

I'm not at Podz or gtfo. I think he's a nice player, but I will say some of the "concerns" with Kuminga also apply to him. He as a 15% usg guy greatly benefits from playing with Steph/Dray and I'm not entirely convinced he will blow up once he's away from them. IMO, Lauri is not worth significantly more than Bridges, so in that case I think it will be Podz or more picks. I'm ok taking Podz or the extra picks, getting both probably won't happen.

Don't be surprised to see them jump in behind the scenes. Seeing Sheppard and Whitmore look this good has to make them think their window could be open now rather than in a few years.

Bring Hakeem back. He can probably still give the youngsters a run for their money :) :) :) :) :)

This does not count second rounders:

25 - super swapped with CLE+MIN
26 - unprotected
27 - super swapped with CLE + MIN + LAL
28 - Unprotected
29 - super swapped with CLE + MIN
30 - Reverse Protected 1-20 (extinguish obligation or convey 31 second)
31 - swap
That’s *** they need to throw in Podz and Kuminga for me to be satisfied otherwise I’m happy to keep Lauri.

IMO if the Warriors decide to trade for Lauri, this would mean that they are trying hard to compete. Thus... anyone they consider important part of their rotation they will try to keep. Podz was their 5th highest MPG player last year and he was a rookie. With Klay gone, this will open even more opportunities for him and they will need him even more than last year. Kuminga is in a similar spot(in fact he played just barely less minutes per game than Podz). IMO the Warriors will consider both of them key to their contention and they will try hard to keep both of them. Kind of like Minny offered even more picks so they can keep McDaniels.

With that said... if there is an offer we accept, I can see it being like... ALL of their picks + Moody + filler...

Just my 2 cent...

The Jazz wont accept that trash. Point blank period. It's not even worth discussing anymore.

The Warriors will have to deal at least Podz/Moody to the Jazz or they will have to deal Podz to the Jazz and find a 3rd team that will send back assets for Kuminga. The Warriors have signed a lot of vets and have a deep bench so they can afford to lose role players. They will have to get creative and find a 3rd team. This will not be an easy trade.

I think Podz is the Grimes/McDaniels in this trade convo. I think GS would be more likely to include JK because of the cap issues that would come with keeping Lauri and the rest of the team beyond this year. Part of me needs him in the trade because it helps weaken the current roster and cap planning.

I actually agree. I think they are more likely to want to include Kuminga than Podz. Both for financial reasons but also since they are getting Lauri, this adds more competition for minutes at his position, rather than at Podz' ... In other words - if they trade for Lauri, they will need Podz more than they would need Kuminga, IMO.

They have to include it all. There is no choice on their part if they want a deal done.

I'm not perfectly sure do everyone here or around the league grasp in what Lauri could do with someone like Curry, even post peak Curry whose shooting and IQ are still otherworldly. Lauri's shot release being the fast it is and his size, combined to his cutting skills and finishing at the rim. If Mike Conley with average three point shooting with much less volume than Steph, drove Lauri to 26ppg... Yeah, we're talking about potential 30ppg season. GSW has to realize this and go all in.
