Jazz trade Fonteccio to Pistons for 2024 2nd

Looking back this thread....I can't believe I was arguing with people over whether or not this was a sign the Jazz were going to tank the rest of the year :D

Looking back on this, we traded Simone (who signed for 2/$18) for Flip. How we feeling about that one now?

I always hated that trade.
Of course I didn't want to tank last year.
Oh well.
Now we might as well stick with the plan in the loaded draft class

I hated the trade, but I wouldn't be all that happy with Simone at $15M either. I'd love him at the Detroit contract, though.

It was fine since it met our goals of tanking end of last year and this year. Detroit got a bargain so good on them. If either of Flip or Procida is good then I think its a win for sure.

It would have been a higher contract if Utah had him in RFA most likely.

I think it ended up well bc we failed at big game hunting….but in a world where we did succeed in putting veteran talent around Lauri it would have been looked at as a big mistake. I’m kind of surprised Simone didn’t get more, but it ended up being a real nice value for DET….for whatever they’re doing.

I noticed the Pels waived Matt Ryan today a career .411 three point shooter. He and Hardy crossed paths in Boston. I know we have no roster room but Hardy likes having these type of guys around.
