What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

Watched Maxxxine. Decent movie. I thought the lead actress was really good. She was also really good on the other 2 movies that are part of the trilogy.
I think she needs to get more and better roles.

Went to see Borderlands. As someone who never played the games, I wasn't burdened by wanting it to be true to the story of the game, so the age of the main character and other various personality traits that apparently are completely against canon did not affect me. It is a relatively fun romp, but it is a paint by the numbers fantasy action movie. The ending is obvious from about 10 minutes into the movie and all of the dialogue and action scenes were phoned in, but if you can get past that the visuals are pretty good (not great, but good enough) and the action is solid, and there is some humor sprinkled through here and there, so it is entertaining enough. I would give it 2 stars maybe, just because it was entertaining enough to keep my attention and let me forget life for an hour and a half. Probably better to wait to stream it if you want to watch it, and even then probably just on a weekend night when you just want something mindless and kind of fun to watch.
 
Watched a documentary series about the Lace Peterson murder from like 20 years ago. It was really good.

Just finished season 2 of Reacher. Pretty disappointing. They decided to go way too heavy on the unrealistic action and all the action movie tropes that annoy me. First season was way better.

I don’t know if the movies have sucked or if it’s just the post covid way of watching tv, but I rarely go to the movie theater anymore. Most of the movies coming out don’t interest me. They’re mostly sequels or prequels and played out. I really liked the MCU but ever since Endgame, their movies have sucked.

Most older people don't feel the need to infantalize women of their own age by calling them "girls". So that rings a little weird when you're over 40. Assuming you are over 40.
