2024-25 Trade Rumors Thread

I am not sold on both teams being amazing for 3 - 4 years. Time will tell. Stocks go up and down for every team.

Still, trading Conley and NAW to Minny was a disaster. They were falling apart at the seems before we sent them Mike.
No way Minnesota is good for that long. Conley is near the end this year and Gobert is showing signs of age. They are a game over .500 and the West has a lot of teams fighting for a playoff spot. Plus injuries can change any teams direction. Of the two teams, Cavs will be good for several years barring injuries.

Yes. A 34% career 3pt shooter on less than 2 makes per game is very irreplaceable and worth every penny of that 3yr/60mil contract. Let's pretend Klay Thompson didn't just sign with the Mavs for less money lol
Really doing your best to cherry pick data to make your point. He's shooting 38% this season. Using career numbers just makes you look like a dunce.

Lakers getting worse what a horrible trade now they are banking on trading the remainder of their 1st rounders for another player they are selling the farm all for LeBronwyn
LeBronwyn’s legacy at the lakers will be destroying their future assets all to chase a title in which they are no where near competing for OKC runs rings around them

For what?

Could be Vincent or Vando as the main incoming salary and JHS is probably coming in that deal as well. Very small incentive then going back to Utah. I believe the Lakers still have a second, they could remove protections ect.

Clarkson isn’t worth anything, so you’re looking at trash for trash kind of trades.

Not sure I see the point to get basically no incentive back.

I am not a believer in JHS, but maybe we need all the tank commanders we can get.

There's not really a use for Clarkson here, so I don't think it would need to be much incentive back. There are only two ways I can see this going. 1) We dump him for straight expiring salary. For example, Clarkson for PJ Tucker. 2) We trade him for other undesirable salary, but get a little incentive on top of that. For example, Clarkson for Vincent/Vando/Cole Anthony + a some sweetner.

There is of course, the possibility that nothing happens as has been the case for years now on the Clarkson front.

Vanderbilt is still only 25 years old and maybe JHS just needs more time? I guess they still have higher likelihood of being contributors in 3+ than Clarkson would.

Probably need something else, still, since the possibility that Vandy is cooked is a non-zero possibility and he’s under contract for three more years after this one.

I think Sexton makes way more sense for the Lakers if they are willing to let go of a 1st round pick. They dont have enough 2nds to get into the Clarkson discussion unless a 3rd team is involved that wants Rui

Sexton becoming an elite mid-volume 3pt shooter puts him in the conversation of being a very valuable piece for the Lakers.

Sexton is way better and makes more sense for most teams than Clarkson, just don’t think teams are going to be willing to put picks on the table. Pretty much every Clarkson destination can be considered a Sexton destination, but Clarkson would go for much cheaper.

Ainge has to trade Sexton this year as his value will be way lower next year as he'll be in the last year of his contract.

I’d be indifferent about Vando, but it makes some sense. There really isn’t a point to having a guy like Clarkson here beyond veteran presence.

I think it’s already low….just a matter of whether Ainge prefers very little trade value. If it were me, wouldn’t take much to take Sexton off our hands. He’s a good player on a two year deal, but all of that winning value is negative for us.

I don’t expect Collin to be moved. Nobody will offer something decent, and Ainge would probably prefer to keep his options even if it seems inevitable we’ll tank again next year.
