The Jazz have three very similar players. All of them can play as a SG or a (smaller) SF, all have long contracts and for all of them the ceiling seems to be being a quality backup on a contender. It's almost a certainty that the Jazz will have to include at least one if not two of them in the trades, especially if Cody and Hendricks pan out and the Jazz draft a long-term starting PG or a SG. There simply would not be enough playing time for 3 very similar bench players going forward.
Things to consider:
1. All of them played very similar stats so far (the stats do not include the latest Denver game): 17 MPG, 7-8 PPG, 2 RPG, 1 APG. All shot 40% from the 3.
2. Brice is better at going and scoring inside, Svi is taller and more athletic, Juzang is "Jack of all trades, master of none" (aside from his 3-pt shooting), Brice is really bad on defense.
3. All three have 4-year contracts: Juzang is the cheapest player at 11.6 million per year, Svi is at 14.5 (but his last year is a team option) and Brice's contract is getting steep in his last 2 years with about 18 million in total.
4. Brice is the youngest: he is just 21 and may improve as a scorer and passer although it's unlikely that he ever becomes even an average defender.
So, if the Jazz are forced to keep just one player long-term who should it be? Brice, Svi or Juzang?
P.S. I know that the easiest answer would be "Let them play and decide later!" but the Jazz should be ready to throw some of them in the trades next month if necessary so this question is already relevant.
