Following Potential 2025 Draftees

Ian Jackson is probably a lottery guy in this draft. Can't deny that he gets buckets and he can set himself up off the dribble in different ways. Defense and passing are TBD, but if the Jazz end up running their offense through a playmaking wing, Jackson would be a nice complement who spaces the floor and creates for himself as a secondary option. He's putting up numbers and efficiency that are on par with Tre Johnson.

Yeah if the shot was further along I would bet the ball skills develop and he unlocks some things. He's just one of those athletes that is different. I wonder if his ceiling is like a super Caruso... which is really nice... or if there is something more there. I like the indicators on the Stocks, rebounding and assist numbers... I can't shake the vision of him scoring for the Bahamas this summer. That is likely the outlier. I'm probably too high on him and if his shot goes sideways and his measurements come in even lower than the less inflated numbers being thrown out there I might have some additional doubts.
 
With VJ, unless his play changes during the year, will come to his measurements for me. If he is 6'2" it will get harder to draft him. If he is closer to 6'5" i would take a gamble on him. His athleticism is elite and is something you see in game. Sometime players are athletic but it doesn't show in game it does with show with VJ.

The big question with ace will him putting on muscles make his game better. He plays pretty soft and seems to avoid contact. Strength will hopefully help.

The player I want the most for the jazz is someone with great work ethic. I want to see how players improve. That usually shows a good work ethic. This is the reason I like Kam Jones.

I think Flagg had a good work ethic.
 
IMO, something missing from VJ's profile is elusiveness/agility with the ball. I think he's athletic enough, but perhaps his handle and footwork look like a bottleneck that makes him slow down. While VJ has more run/jump athleticism, he doesn't have that insane elusiveness that we saw from Mitchell. I think you can learn this, but to some degree you've either got it or you don't. He's looking like a future role player for me.

After the top 3 I'm left with lots of question marks about all the players so he's still the leader in that next tier for me.
 
I just wouldnt feel super excited betting on a 6'2 super athlete. If he starts to show some more on-ball juice as a creator thats one thing, but at this point he's extremely far away as a PG prospect to the point I dont think it's ever going to be a thing.

Sure, there's some defensive upside, but how much defensive upside can one really have at that size? It's not like he's dominant defender at Baylor outside of stocks.

I don’t think he’s 6’5, but I think calling 6’2 is just unnecessary hyperbole. I’m not one to agonize over an inch anyways. His ability to defend bigger guys, rebound, make plays etc…..that matters more to be than the measurables.

His size prohibits me from thinking he’s top 3 or close to it….but I don’t think the other guys are particularly close to the top 3 either. Demin, Tre, Ace….hard for me to be super excited about them. VJ’s stock has fallen for me but only Kas has surpassed him.

Size, length, skill, fluidity, efficiency as a scorer - KD is the total package offensively. Unguardable. Once every 30-year guy.

Maybe when they are considering how good a prospect is they consider more than offense but im not sure.
I agree with you that KD is about as perfect of a scorer as has ever existed though.

I don't care what they're considering. In addition to being a generational scoring superstar, Durant is a proven (and very underrated) NBA defender and capable rim protector. It's just an insulting comparison.

The Flagg hype is getting totally out of hand. The kid is going to have massive target on his back when he gets to the league.
 
Just off the top of my head I'd say Oden, Durant, and Luka I'd have over Flagg for sure. He's probably in the next tier with guys like Davis, Wall, and Zion in terms of #1 picks.

What Durant has done in his NBA career is irrelevant to ranking him as a prospect.

He was on another level as a prospect. Clearly a generational talent even then, totally unstoppable in college.

Flagg is the 2nd coming of rookie Hayward. Nice high motor player who fills in the blanks and does all the little things. We'll see if he ever gets to the level Gordon eventually achieved. He'll have to learn to shoot for that.

(By the way, a little known fact: Flagg and Hayward are almost the same size. Flagg will have to survive at the 3 spot in the NBA, which will not be easy.)

There really isn't one. KD was 25/11 and 4 stocks on amazing efficiency.
