2024-25 Trade Rumors Thread

Straight from Klutch HQ.

The notion that Collin Sexton, an extremely replaceable player in today's NBA, should bring back not only an "intriguing prospect" but also actual draft capital is... bizarre. But that's Danny Ainge for you. He can't help himself.

It's one thing for unnamed teams to have "interest". It's another thing entirely for a player to have an actual "market".

If, by some miracle, this rumor turns out to have some microscopic amount of truth to it, it's probably that teams are smelling blood in the water and think they can essentially get Sexton for free to use him as a short-leash microwave scorer off the bench. Which is his true/best role.

Not buying it yet though. Sexton has been on the block for most of his career, first in Cleveland and now in Utah. Teams know who and what he is. They don't care about empty tank stats.

Potential Sexton destinations and their "intriguing" prospects that could be availble. Taking that word loosely.

HOU: Whitmore
LAC: Bones
LAL: JHS
DAL: Hardy, OMP
SAS: Tre Jones, Branham, Wesley, Cissoko, Bassey
ORL: Anthony, Howard, Houstan
DET: Sasser, Moore, Klintman

I think ORL has always been a logical destination for Sexton, they need scoring and have extra late firsts available....but Cole Anthony has played fairly well recently. Might convince them to stay pat.

I’ll take that bet.
