I just wanted some thoughts on weather or not Brian Johnson should be considered for the job now that Chow is more than likely gone. I always seemed to remember the Utes doing much better when Johnson went no huddle and called his own plays. Andy Ludwig was terrible and always left it up to Johnson to go win the game in the 4th quarter. Even though Johnson played the spread and Utah is now in the pro-style offense, I think he has what it takes to call a good offensive game when given a half decent QB. Thoughts...

Why would Chow leave? All we need for the Utes is a good quarterback. We had to survive with Hays for most of season. Wynn on the other hand is done for sure. The Utes are neither terrible nor exceptional, its our first year in the pac-12 and I know we'lldo better. I hope Travis Wilson will be beast once he comes to Utah.

Ohhhh... Utah is so much better than BYU, they would never hire Johnson as the OC, and BYU is dumb for hiring Doman.

I'm not a fan of the hire, just like I thought the Doman hire was a dumb move by BYU last year. People in here can act like they have personal insight into Jake Heaps' work habits, attitude, etc. but I'd be willing to bet that if BYU had a seasoned OC at the helm to begin last season, you wouldn't have seen all of that nonsense and St. Hypes would still probably be BYU's starting QB heading into 2012. Now, that doesn't mean Doman won't turn into a good OC down the road, but I still don't think he was ready.
One thing I can say in Brian Johnson's favor is at least he's working under a HC with backbone enough to avoid needles QB controversies that end up spreading throughout the entire team. So while I still can't endorse the hiring of BJ, he should at least be in for a smoother transition than poor old Doman.

What I find funny is that you're in here complaining, yet we actually have some Ute fans in here questioning this hire. Seems like last year when Doman was promoted, most BYU fans in here were tripping over themselves to edited for making such a great hire.

I don't care if you do complain about it..... I don't know how many times I heard "my team would never do something that stupid" in reference to a Doman like promotion. "We have the best HC and AD in the history of the universe, and we are in the PAC12, and PAC12 schools don't do stupid things like that" is another one.
I am just gleefully enjoying the craw shoved in "some" Ute fans mouths after those comments.
