What's wrong with Millsap?

The guy was playing the best ball of his life and now he's done a total 180. His mid range jumper has lost its silky smoothness and what happen to that turn around jumper? Hopefully he will have a good game and get his confidence going soon. Jazz live and die by him.

He has not enough stamina. Suck it Jefferson haters, Millsap gets fatigued quicker while not being the first option(doing less work on offense).

He seems upset about something. I dont think its an injury, it seems to be something in his head. Maybe he is mad Jefferson is more of the focal point of the offense? Maybe he is frustrated with his teammates play? family issues? Either way we need him back to his usual.

Thank you for pointing out that out. Jefferson doesn't do nearly as much on the defensive end. Jefferson does not do as much for rebounding. Jefferson doesn't try as hard when it comes too effort things during the game, unless he has the ball in his hands. Jefferson doesn't even do that much to create position when he is calling for the ball. Yes, suck it all of us Jefferson haters.

Wow, maybe you should think through what you say before it blows up in your face.

I have felt that Millsap and Jefferson are being used too much the entire season. Favors and Kanter, even with their lack of polish, can be effective and play many more minutes then they actually are.

I think Millsap is getting frustrated with the refs too. Seems like he is complaining a lot. Which is fine cause he never gets calls.

This is what made me start to worry about Deron. At some point he decided he was a star and the refs needed to be calling more fouls when he missed shots. I don't like it.

Too provocative? :(

A more sophistcated guess:
Millsap has to compensate every game for his lack of size through effort and strength. It's somehow understandable that his tank gets empty quicker compared to other PFs.

He doesn't get enough calls but it's the same with Jefferson and he doesn't complain as much. Millsap could be frustrated with himself in a way when he doesn't have the strength to finish plays that he could if he was at 100%.

It is simply who Sap is and why the all-star talk is always premature. He will come back and have some great stretches. I love Sap and the way he plays but I have no illusions about him being more than he is. He would be a great 6th man at around 20-25 minutes a game.

I think it is totally different than Deron demanding fouls be called. Millsap almost gets rookie treatment on both ends of the floor. He gets hammered while driving to the basket with no call on offense, then gets called for a ticky-tack foul on defense. Millsap does play physically, which leads to fouls, but he doesn't get the same calls on both ends of the floor.

What does that have to do with Millsap? Stop creating drama.

I hate that. complaining is never going to get the call reversed. Shut up and play.

Give Sap a day off, and start regularly looking for days to rest him, probably on back to backs. Like, they won't rest him tonight with two days off before OKC. But in the upcoming b-b-b, sit him against NO in the middle of Memphis and OKC. You might not do this in an ordinary season, but in this season getting him some extra time to recuperate is better for the long run.

I don't see why we can't do this with more of the roster. There is not a significant drop off from our starters to our reserves (an upgrade at some positions actually, imo). There is no reason for both Millsap and Jefferson to be playing 30 mpg with 4 games in 5 nights or 5 games in 7 nights. It would also depend on matchups of particular teams who should sit.

Shortened Condensed season along with leading the team in minutes per game (36 I believe) = getting tired as the season continues.

We've seen this 3 years in a row now.

36mpg is way too much for Millsap.

He should be around 31-32mpg

As someone said before, Millsap will turn it around and have good stretches here and there. But to keep him consistent, they need to cut down on his minutes. Corbin has the depth, he just needs to use it.

There is no question the minutes and condensed schedule have a lot to do with it (I've advocated for keeping him around 30mpg). But, you also have to add our lack of perimeter game and the extra work that puts our bigs through.

We are as atrocious from deep as I've ever seen.

I agree, he just looks really tired to me. Ty needs to cut down his minutes or sit him for a couple games.

Did you watch the NY game? He and Al were double and triple teamed whole ****ing game. Not much can be done if paint is always packed. Same happened to our rookies. They couldn't get their hands on any rebounds because they had to go over 2 or 3 bodies all the time to get them. Keep banging in situations like that gives no results but gets you exhausted both morally and physically very quickly.
